DOPE Star Kiersey Clemons Eyed For Iris West Role In THE FLASH Movie; Rita Ora And More Also Being Considered

Director Rick Famuyiwa is eyeing African American actress Kiersey Clemons for the lead role of Iris West in The Flash movie, but there are also a couple of other interesting names in the mix. [UPDATED]

With Ezra Miller obviously set as the Fastest Man Alive in The Flash, it appears as if it's now time for the movie's supporting cast to be fleshed out. The first character to join Barry Allen is the hero's love interest Iris West, and director Rick Famuyiwa's current top choice to play the intrepid Central City reporter is apparently Kiersey Clemons. She worked alongside him in the critically acclaimed Dope.

Nothing is set in stone just yet, but the Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising and Flatliners star being the director's top choice obviously goes in her favour. However, as you can see below, Rita Ora (Fifty Shades of Grey) and Sing Street's Lucy Boynton are also being considered, so it remains to be seen how this will turn out. All three actresses would definitely bring something different to the role though.

Despite the fact that The Flash recently lost its release date to the Tomb Raider reboot (unless Warner Bros. plans to compete with themselves that weekend), production is expected to begin later this year is planned. Famuyiwa is directing based on the latest draft of the script by Seth Grahame-Smith. That was based on a treatment by Chris Miller and Phil Lord. Who would you like to see as Iris?

UPDATE: Based on comments from Variety reporter Justin Kroll, we'll be seeing Iris sooner than expected! What she'll be getting up to in Justice League obviously remains to be seen for now...

Emma Watson was my personal choice but from that list I would pick Kiersey Clemons.

Normally I'm not a fan of Race Changes but damn she is pretty.
