TV Line have revealed a few bits and pieces about The Flash's highly anticipated sophomore season. They managed to squeeze a few new details out of the show's star, Grant Gustin, who claimed that the death of Eddie Thawne would have a big impact on the season's early narrative. "It is definitely a factor, for sure", said Gustin, “Barry wants to be there for Iris as her best friend right now. And for Barry, too. It’s too soon for everybody. Some tragic events just took place!”

They also scored a few comments from the show's EP Geoff Johns. Recently, rumors spread of a new character joining the show. Set to be The Flash's own 'Felicity Smoak' (from sister show Arrow), the as-of-yet-unnamed character is widely rumored to be 'Patty Spivot'. Johns revealed that, "there are a lot of new characters coming in, not just the ones that have been leaked online," adding that the new additions would "challenge relationships, in good and bad ways.”

Gustin has previously revealed that a new 'Big Bad' will arrive very early on in Season 2. Who else from the comics do you think could be joining Spivot and this new nemesis? We may find out in a few weeks at SDCC, but for now leave your thoughts and theories below!

The Flash will return Tuesday, October 6 on The CW.
