In a conversation with, ETonline, Grant Gustin, describes the auditioning process for the role of The Flash. He'll be appearing in season two of CW's popular comic book-based television series, Arrow.
"I love that the character, himself, is kind of a fanboy," Gustin told me. "I grew up a Superman fan, and a DC comics fan ... and I relate to that. That was my favorite thing during the audition process, the awkwardness and the fanboy inside of him that I definitely can relate to."

Based on DC Comics, Green Arrow superhero comic book series, Arrow has been reinvented for a modern day audience and comes to DVD and BD for the first time. After being marooned for five years on a remote island, billionaire Oliver Queen returns home with a mysterious agenda and a lethal set of new skills that he uses in a war on crime in this hard-hitting action series. After suffering unimaginable ordeals on the island, the Oliver returns to Starling City a new man -- determined to right the wrongs of his father and sworn to bring justice to those who've corrupted his city. But Oliver finds his crusade complicated by his friends and family who are all affected by his return.

I'm really excited about this and optimistic for his performance, too bad we have to wait until episode 20 to see the Flash costume they choose.

Are they not showing the costume in episodes 8 and 9 then?

@jlabatman

Yeah, I found out the other day from IGN and reading Grant's interviews that he wouldn't have his costume and be the Flash until episode 20, to say that I was disappointed about having to wait would be an understatement.

I think Nomis is still upset he wasn't picked. To be honest though, this was him running from Pedusto's van, so his speed was at its all time max!

just want to comment on something else,i saw a video,it was by fans of superheroes but it made me worry about something and i also kind of made me angry and they are many articles about it:are there too many superhero films?, now i might be biased since im a big superhero fan as we all are but i dont think so but i can sort of understand the people who do think so ,now if you look at the superhero films of this year,next year and 2015,they are not that many,i think people think they are too many because these are the big blockbusters of this generation,for the 80s it was the action films,these are like that so they get advertised everywhere but this year only 4 superhero films have come out,IRON MAN 3,MAN OF STEEL,THE WOLVERINE AND THOR,only 4 out of the 50 plus movies that come out every year, next year they are four too and 3 in 2015,its not like they are making 10 of these every year, even i would complain then that they are too many,i think they are so just part of popular culture today and are so constantly advertised that people think that and plus the box office for these movies are huge so it shows that atleast some people are not tired of them,Iron man 3 is not only the highest grossing superhero film of the year but the highest grossing film of the YEAR ,Man of steel ,while not making asmuch as WB had hoped still made a hell of a lot of money and while the wolverine was the lowest grossing of the three,it still made a lot of its money back,i think just keep up the quality of these films ,show the passions behind and it will transfer into money and enjoyment for us on screen oh and people who say that all the best characters have been done so its downhill from here,no,the have not, we can still do iron fist, flash, wonder woman, black panther, they are so many great ones so i want this to continue,i think this year was just blockbuster fatigue and now we have a few months of resting up until november when The god of thunder himself arrives ,so ultimately i think hollywood so advertise more original,independent films aswell but still continue with the blockbusters and superhero films because people go to the movies to be entertained and on their base levels, these films do that.
but the real test begins now,lets see how well thor does in november and the other 4 superhero films do next year

For this complaining about his age...Flash was recruited onto the police forensics team when he was twenty or twenty one and got his powers not long after that. Note sure how Gustin being 25 can be considered a miscast. It makes sense that he isn't a seasoned and mature flash being Ollie is fairly new to the Arrow thing.

"Continuity!" I don't think that word means what you think it means...

If he was blonde on Arrow then turned up on his hypothetical spinoff with dark hair THAT would break continuity. As far as honoring the comics, Green Arrow being an antisocial douchebag who kills people and was trained by Deathstroke, that's okay, but a brunette Barry Allen is blasphemy?
