Is GREEN LANTERN Coming To Season Two Of THE FLASH?

There have been mentions of Ferris Air in both Arrow and The Flash for some time now, but there was a moment in last night's episode of the Scarlet Speedster's series which definitely appeared to indicate that Hal Jordan will soon join The CW-verse. Hit the jump to check it out!

The Ferris Air Easter Eggs in Arrow and The Flash appeared to be pretty meaningless, but the mention of a missing test pilot in last night's episode was very interesting indeed. Green Lantern isn't set to reach the big screen until Justice League Part Two (rumour has it that he won't show up until the very end of the first movie in that franchise), and his solo movie is still five years away. With Barry on TV despite the fact that Ezra Miller has also been cast as The Flash, there's nothing to say Hal Jordan can't join him and Oliver, especially as John Stewart is rumoured for the movies.

Of course, we haven't heard anything about this happening, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if Hal shows up in Arrow or The Flash later this year to set up a solo series in 2016. The latter has certainly shown that small screen special effects are capable of bringing a character like that to life, but we'll just have to wait and see... As always, be sure to share your thoughts and theories below.

How the hell did Oliver show up if he's still in Assassin Summer Camp in Asia?

Bring Elongated Man on the show. Ralph and Barry were best friends in the comics.

I really hope so. Is Supernatural ending soon? Because if so someone from that show would be a perfect Hal. I'll let you guess who it is. He's in almost every fan fac. I'm not saying he'd be my pick, but for a lot of people he is.

Hope not. Seems like producers are just trying waaaay too much. Arrow has suffered for it. The writers obviously gave more attention to Flash and arrow season 3 suffered. They're so hype To get on the connected are universe train without thinking about the complications. Idk if they can juggle all of this. Green Lantern should only be a cinematic hero. flags can play both ends but GL is really a cinematic guy. The scale and scope of his mythology is massive and I don't want a GL just being in coast city...I want him traveling the universe and galaxies. A sci fi space opera. TV can't allow for that really...can't support that scope

It's just an easter egg people are reading into this too much

Cw needs to embrace the b list heroes and let the cinematic dccu focus on a list. They've made arrow bigger and what not who was somewhat of a b list guy

Please... it's just an easter egg.. nothing more. So many other caracters & places have been nodded to over the couse of Arrow's 3 seasons & Season 1 of the Flash & it's been nothing more than that. Eg. Bludhaven(Nightwing's old stompimg ground has been mentioned since Season 2 of Arrow... no Nightwimg in sight yet.)

Only bring Hal Jordan on the show if Barry needs a flamboyantly gay friend.

Pros and Cons of Hal on small screen:
Pro:
Fully fleshed out character and supporting cast
The CW/DC writers care alot more about Hal than the studio does
Avoids similarities to the film version
He wont go to space (I want GL on Earth anyways)
Potential for other JL team member series

Con:
Far worse special effects budget
More than likely worse acting by comparison.
He wont go to space
A lot more relationship-y drama
Probably little or no Sinestro/Atrocitus and no chance of big characters like AntiMonitor who are better for film anyways

Hard to say which is better, but I want to see Hal in something in less than 5 years!

They might as well use him for the time being. The DCCU may use him in the Justice League movies. That would give Flash 2 seasons to use him before he may appear in JL. Also if he doesn't appear in either of the JL movies then Flash could use him for about 5 seasons before his standalone in 2020.

@JoshWilding I assume you meant to put season 2 in the title, not 3.

Also, in your article you wrote that the former (Arrow) has "certainly shown that small screen special effects are capable of bringing a character like that to life". I think you meant to say the latter, as Flash is the one relying heavily on special effects.

Other than that I'm beginning to think Hal really is coming and that John Stewart is going to be the GL in the DCCU instead. Honestly, fine by me.

I have to agree with @comicsbornandbred, Dc has their own plans for GL, and cw tv is not one of them at all. Besides there's no way they could make a show like Green Lantern with Tv budget, it would look cheesy as all hell.
