GENERAL EILING TARGETS FIRESTORM — After the nuclear explosion separates Ronnie (guest star Robbie Amell) and Dr. Stein (guest star Victor Garber), Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team believe both men are safe. Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) is thrilled to have her fiancé back and prepares to resume their life together while Dr. Stein returns to his wife. However, when General Eiling (guest star Clancy Brown) targets Firestorm, Ronnie and Dr. Stein must decide if they are safer together or apart. Meanwhile, Mason Bridge (guest star Roger Hayworth) tells Iris (Candice Patton) that there is something secretive going on at S.T.A.R. So, it appears as if we'll be meeting Grodd for the first time properly next week! Has he been controlling General Eiling? Based on those scratchings we saw a couple of weeks back, his powers are still developing, so it's more likely that he's being set up as the main villain in season two rather than for the end of this year. From his appearance, he was CGI. I believe he'll be a gorilla given psychic abilities and a bad attitude thanks to the big explosion that's been giving everyone superpowers.

I'm sure they're going to be ignoring the 'race of super gorillas in an invisible city in the middle of Africa' route.

We got the Rogues, Reverse-Flash, Grodd.

I mean, I love Grodd but couldn't we have saved him for the second season?

@Wannabe
"NEWS FLASH!

It doesn't."

Its comments like that which make people think it does. Personally i found it passable, like the CGI for Grodd (Who they will probably rush into being the finale villain)

"so it's more likely that he's being set up as the main villain in season two"

Also, this seems silly. Why would they release a video teasing the series two villain so early on? Makes more sense that Grodd will be the villain at the end of series one

I agree that Grodd should have been saved for the second season. They've already got Zoom to use for the season finale. Love what this show is doing, but I wish they'd slow down the pace a little.

That's the joke. Getit?

Wish he was saved for season 2. I assume they're saving mirror master for season two and professor zoom maybe.

I'm hoping he's sorta in this "lost, what exactly is happening[?]" state and the good ol' professor has hand into his setup of a more devious Grodd.

I like how they've set him up as a mysterious movie monster-ish character. The character has a lot of potential for silliness, especially if he presides over a gorilla city, but he could also be cool if done right.

I'm not convinced the CGI will be convincing enough, however.

I wish this show would veer away from the "Freak of the week" thing and have episodic arcs instead. Spend 2-3 episodes on the villains you tackle, delve into them a bit more. Makes for more interesting episodes, IMO.

Also, I hope Grodd is a mix of practical and CGI. Still looking forward to his appearance nonetheless, it'll be refreshing to see a different sort of super-powered villain.

but yeah, I better hope he can play chess, that'd be great

One of the funnest comic book tv shows ever!
Only gripe I've had with the series came this past week. CW just couldn't help themselves and had Barry go to the woman's place of work to cause a scene. Unprofessional, is all I could think the whole time, each and every time as he went there more than once.

an added bonus would be giving him a British accent
I always pictured Grodd being voiced by Patrick Stewart

After what happened with the last Flash show, I'm convinced they're treating this season like it might be their one and only. The producers are acting like they don't give a [frick] because they have inoperable cancer.

That's also why Warren Beatty put all of Dick Tracy's villains in the first movie...uncertainty of its success.

Show runners of Constantine should have acted this way.
