THE FLASH: Ezra Miller Compares The DCEU's Speed Force To Another Familiar Sc-Fi Force

We still have quite a wait to see how Ezra Miller's Flash differs from prior incarnations, and the actor has now teased his idea of how the Speed Force affects his character and the world around him...

While we may have caught our first glimpse of the Speed Force in Batman v Superman, there's still a lot left to explore in the DCEU's take on the extra-dimensional energy that powers The Flash and other Speedsters like him. In a recent interview with the #Mills YouTube channel for Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, Ezra Miller elaborated a little further on what his idea of the Speed Force is to both himself and his take on Barry Allen.

"[Dance choreographer] Martha Graham, one of my greatest inspirations, said in a series...in a quote that 'there is a vitality, a life force, a quickening', and for me, the idea of a quickening, the idea that the whole universe as we know it is essentially this composition of things at different speeds, is an interesting idea," Miller said, comparing the influence of the Speed Force as similar to that of the Force from Star Wars.

"So the Speed Force being like The Force [from Star Wars] in the sense that it's a dimensional reality that's manipulating others, almost like a gravitational wave that manipulates space-time; that is what's interesting for my Barry Allen, and for me what becomes interesting is the human being who is suddenly coming into contact and rapidly starting to merge with the force, and what that is for a human being."

The comparison to a galaxy far, far away is certainly a fitting one; both grant their users amazing abilities and also serve as an "afterlife" when they die. While there's no direct confirmation either way just yet, The Flash's inclusion in Zack Snyder's Justice League might mean a greater illustration of his powers, including tapping into the Speed Force to help defeat Steppenwolf.

How do you think the DCEU's take on the Speed Force might play out? Let us know in the comments!

@sixthsense - Yup, he reminds me of Andrew Garfield and his love for Spider-Man in many ways. I just hope that, unlike Garfield, has gets surrounded by a team of equally passionate people to make his solo film.
