THE FLASH Moves Up A Week To June 16, 2023; Praised As "Spider-Man: No Way Home Good"

Despite the controversy surrounding Ezra Miller, The Flash is still set to race into theaters next June, but it'll now arrive a week early on Father's Day weekend...

Warner Bros. Discovery has pushed The Flash forward by one week, with the Scarlet Speedster's first solo movie now set to race into theaters on June 16, 2023.

No official reason was given for the move, but it might have something to do with Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny opening on the 30th (this gives the DCU movie a little more breathing room).

Additionally, the studio has set a limited release date for animated feature Mummies, which will screen in select theaters on Feb. 24, 2023.

We've already heard that The Flash went over very well in test screenings, and Deadline has now reiterated that the Andy Muschietti-helmed superhero adventure has "tested through the roof," with one source praising the movie as “Spider-Man: No Way Home good.”

This could be why WBD higher-ups don't seem to be overly concerned about the public's perception of troubled star Ezra Miller - though it might be a different story when the film opens to general audiences!

Though no official synopsis has been released, The Flash is expected to be (loosely) based on the Flashpoint comic book arc, and is rumored to serve as a "reset" of sorts for the DCU. Both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton will return as their respective takes on Batman, and the movie will also introduce Sasha Calle as Supergirl.
