With production on Fantastic Beasts 3 being delayed, fans are concerned about the status of the upcoming The Flash movie starring Ezra Miller, and whether it will be happening at all. Fortunately, an interview with Miller has surfaced with some reassuring words for fans, as the actor confirms that the project will still be moving forward very soon.

“It's getting really good now. Anyone that knows anything about Barry Allen knows that he's always late but then when he arrives, he gets stuff done. And that's definitely how this film's production schedule is proceeding. We are a little late, but the reason why we are late, and this is the honest to God's truth the reason we are late, is because we are all, and I include myself in this, we are very meticulously focused on making a movie that is just not one of the greatest superhero movies that we can possibly make, this movie is also going to be a gift to the fans. This movie is going to be a real pure offering to the fans of this material.”

Miller is optimistic about the future of the project, stating that they want to put in enough time and effort into making the film as good as can it can be, and not rush its development. It’s clear that it is still a ways from heading into production, however, as initial details are being sorted out by DC. He also confirmed some potentially huge news about the status of the DCEU; namely, that it will be part of a larger DC Multiverse and The Flash will introduce the Speedster multiverse.

“We are talking about sparking a whole new universe, which is not just the DC multiverse, it's also, it's the Speedster multiverse. And the Speedsters are the ones who connect all of the disparate pieces. Because Marvel is a universe, just one world and all the same characters in it. DC is a multiverse. All these different stories with different realities, characters, and versions of characters, and the Speedsters are the ones who move through it all. They are like the connecting bridge between all these difference collaged parts.”

If the comments above are any indication, this may finally shed some light on the future direction of the larger DC Cinematic Universe and why they are planning and producing such a wide variety of films, from this year’s The Joker to a potential New Gods spin-off. Maybe, the future of this cinematic universe is in embracing its outlandish and zany source material.

The Flash is set to be directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. The release date is currently unknown.

@Krav - If this movie turns out to be anywhere as good as Aquaman, then it will be worth the wait. The best performances always take time to be brewed and crafted and polished, and the Flash absolutely should have all the time it needs to be as perfect as they can make it. Sacrificing quality for punctuality is inexcusable.

@Argetlam22 - i enjoyed Aquaman, but I'd be holding The Flash to a higher standard.

Also, not sure I buy the 'take our time to get it right' reasoning. They announced it 4.5 years ago.... its just never been a big enough priority for them

@WilliamHMacy - LaVar Ball. He is a washed up "professional" athlete who's son plays for the Lakers and his other sons are (sort of) on their way to the NBA as well. He's an idiot. The GIF is from his guest spot on Monday Night Raw a few years back.

@bigdannymac - I don't think you're allowed to be optimistic about DC movies. Please throw some snarky comment in somewhere.

Flash is my favorite core DC character, so I’m excited for what they come up with.

Marvel doesn't have a multiverse? Lmao okay
MusaTariq25

@LegendaryOutlaw - I’m assuming he’s talking about the films, not the comics. Maybe Endgame will change that for the MCU, we’ll see.
LegendaryOutlaw
LegendaryOutlaw - 2/23/2019, 8:47 PM
@MusaTariq25 - That would make more sense. Still, though. Assuming he's referring to the DCEU, it's not a multiverse if it's just a continuity break. BUT, if he's considering all of the other DC material, then hes not wrong I suppose.

But then, Marvel also has other media they could say is in their "multiverse."
