Ben Affleck Says THE FLASH Features His Favorite Scenes As Batman; Confirms It Will Be His Final Appearance

Ben Affleck has reiterated that Zack Snyder's Justice League and The Flash serve as the end to his time as the Caped Crusader, adding that his scenes in the latter are the favourite he's shot as Batman.

Ben Affleck first suited up as Batman in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and later appeared in both Suicide Squad and Justice League. His tenure as the Caped Crusader ended there, and plans for him to direct and star in The Batman fell by the wayside as it became increasingly clear that the actor had grown unhappy with Warner Bros.' handling of Bruce Wayne.

Something has changed over the last couple of years, though, as Affleck returned to shoot additional material for Zack Snyder's Justice League, and will also appear in The Flash this November.

Talking to The Herald Sun, Affleck spoke extremely positively about his experience working on the Scarlet Speedster's solo outing, going so far as to say that "maybe my favorite scenes in terms of Batman and the interpretation of Batman that I have done, were in the Flash movie."

"I hope they maintain the integrity of what we did because I thought it was great and really interesting - different, but not in a way that is incongruent with the character. Who knows? Maybe they will decide that it doesn't work, but when I went and did it, it was really fun and really, really satisfying and encouraging and I thought, 'Wow - I think I have finally figured it out.'"

These type of comments will no doubt leave many of you hoping the door is open to Affleck continuing to play Batman beyond The Flash (even in the midst of rumours that reality will be rewritten so that Michael Keaton's Dark Knight is the DCEU's Bruce Wayne). Unfortunately, the actor would add that both the Snyder Cut and this movie served as "a really nice finish on my experience with that character."

With that, it appears Affleck really is done as Batman. It's great to hear he's going out on a high, of course, and we're hoping The Flash will deliver a satisfying conclusion to his tenure as the hero.

The Flash races into theaters on November 4.

Yeah that’s pretty much what we all thought when he was announced. It’s sad for me as I liked him as the character but I’m at least happy Josstice League wasn’t the end bc that really ruined his character for me. I will forever be sad we never got his Batman solo movie but I’m grateful for what we got, that we got his original Justice League performance, and that he came back one last time for a proper sendoff. Here’s looking forward to The Batman which looks amazing.

That all sounds very positive. I'm really looking forward to this film. Aside from... Whatever the hell Joss Whedon was doing, I really liked Ben in the role. I can't wait to see Ben Affleck again, but I'm the most excited for this fella

@DarthOmega - Maybe it’s bc I don’t really have any nostalgia for the Burton movies since I didn’t see them until I was a teenager but beyond a cameo or NWH style return I really don’t get the appeal of having Keaton back. Everyone complained about how old Ben’s Batman was but Keaton looks like if he got hit once he’d turn to dust lol

Think it's a good move to just end it on that then. Better to finish on something you look back on fondly, than to drag it out. Kinda like with Chris Evans and Captain America

@solskulldeath - Keaton is the best Batman for me, Clooney the best Bruce Wayne (there, I said it), and Bale had the best movies. Can see why people like Ben too though

@solskulldeath - He's my favorite, over-all, Bruce Batman, but that doesn't mean you aren't nuts. Maybe you "are" nuts, and it has nothing to do with this.

Just kidding.
