FLASHPOINT Still Doesn't Have A Director As Recently Hired Duo Confirm They've Yet To Sign A Deal

Despite reports that John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (Spider-Man: Homecoming) will take the helm of Flashpoint, the directing duo has confirmed that they've not signed a deal with Warner Bros.

It's been well over a month since we learned that Spider-Man: Homecoming screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein were in talks to direct Flashpoint and it's now been made clear that those talks are still very much ongoing. The Hollywood Reporter caught up with them at the premiere of their movie Game Night and revealed that the deal with Warner Bros. hasn't been finalised.

"We’re still negotiating," Daley confirmed. "Deals are in the works right now." Confirming that they haven't started working on the script because "we have to sign the deal." Daley added that: "Hopefully, it will work out." It's not clear what's holding things up but Goldstein offered a humorous explanation. "It’s all about parking spots. If you give in then you’re all the way out by craft services. You want a better spot than that." Chances are it's down to money and the response to Game Night

After all, if that movie is a critical and commercial bomb, the studio might think twice about hiring this team so we'll have to wait and see. Flashpoint has previously lost directors Rick Famuyiwa and Seth Grahame-Smith and the question now is, will these two end up parting ways with The Fastest Man Alive too? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on this news in the comments section.

That sure is a lot of negotiations for a duo I can’t imagine is asking for all that much.

PATTY JENKINS!!!!!

Make it Wonder Woman 1.5.

Flash should stil be the main protaganist, but there's a lot of Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Batman to play with. Fire those fvcks who want to turn "Flashpoint" into an unwanted shit-show.

Flashpoint should be bloody epic!

P-Dawg FTW.

@GwenLantern - Uh, sorry to disagree, i think its more a justice league movie. Aquaman has much as a role as wondy.

@CrazyCipher - No, you're right, it really is Justice League 1.5. But can you imagine how good Justice League would have been if Patty Jenkins had directed it instead of Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon?

Feige knows what's up. He gets the Russos to direct the next two Avengers movies after they showed what they can do with the genre on the Cap movies.

Also, I think that thinking of Flashpoint as the Flash movie is what's hurting this film the most. They need to announce a Flash movie in development to be released sometime after Flashpoint.

I mean, really, they need to announce solo reboots for all the Justice Leaguers, after Flashpoint and Flash should be one of them. Then we can see the Flashpoint movie as exactly what it should be, which is Justice League 1.5, like you said.

Sorry *Solo reboots for everyone except Wonder Woman. Her movie was fine. And wouldn't be affected by Flashpoint, anyway, since it takes place way before the time stream changes.

Sign them, or don't sign them...

We don't need the first Flash movie to be Flashpoint.
