-Joseph Gatt interview, Joe Gatt plays a yet to be named villain for Thor. Here are the interesting bits from his interview:
-He seen six (6) sound sound stages filled with beautiful sets.
-Kenneth Brannagh directs like they were performing on stage
-The role Gatt auditioned for needs to be very imposing and muscular and able to deal with a very physical, action oriented stuff.
-Movie will look very close to the comicbooks with some changes. Producers are on the set all the time to make sure the "Marvel" look isn't lost.
-The action sequences are going to be huge...awesome!! Vic Armstrong is directing the second unit whose previously had worked on -The Mummy, Mission Impossible and James Bond to name a few.

-Hopkins says that Thor is a superhero movie with some Shakespeare thrown in . Though the movie will use modern english in its dialogues.
Which I think will sound OK rather than hearing Thor shouting out his "Thou's" and "Thee's" which will pretty sound hokey for most of the audience.

Director:Kenneth Brannagh
Classically trained Shakespearean thesp and director, directing a sort-or Shakespearean superhero character, don't you think that is a match made in Heaven or Valhalla?

Thor: Chris Hemsworth
Chris Hemsworth maybe known to most of us as the other "Capt. Kirk... no the other other Capt. Kirk", as he portrayed the shortlived Capt. George Kirk in J.J. Abrams Star Trek. He is not the first choice by most of us, but from the sound of things his quickly inhabiting the role.

Jane Foster: Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman is not a stranger in CBMs as she portrayed Evey in DC's V for Vendetta. She also has some serious geek creds being Queen Amidala in Star Wars(on second thoughts maybe we need to worry about this one).

Loki: Tom Hiddleston
Looking at his filmography nothing stand out for me, well this role Thor could be IT.

Odin: Anthony Hopkins
Is there anybody more badass than Hannibal Lecter as Odin, Leader of the Norse Pantheon of Gods?

Sif: Jaimie Alexander
Geek creds hmmm.. Kyle XY... is that good enough?

The Warriors Three

Volstagg: Ray Stevenson
Just having the Warrior's Three in this movie I'll say is a move towards a great direction. Epic tales needs epic people to be in it, this is Thor's Fellowship.

THOR LIVE CBM HISTORY 101
For they who are not one of us :)

Brief Comic History:
Thor is a superhero who appears in Marvel Comics, the character of course was based on the Norse God of Thunder. The character's first appearance in Journey into Mystery #83 (August 1962). He was created by editor-plotter Stan Lee, scripter Larry Lieber, and penciller Jack Kirby.



As the Norse god of Thunder, Thor can summon the elements of the storm (lightning; rain; wind; snow) and uses Mjolnir as a tool to focus this ability. Using Mjolnir he can fly at supersonic speeds in Earth's atmosphere. Thor possesses two items which assist him in combat: the enchanted Belt of Strength, and his mystical hammer Mjolnir. The first item doubles Thor's strength and endurance while the second is used to control his weather abilities; flight; energy projection and absorption.


Live CBM History:
Thor first appeared in live media in "The Incredible Hulk Returns". Thor was played by Eric Allan Kramer, and Dr. Donald Blake by Steve Levitt. In this version Blake does not become Thor, who is a separate character. By holding the hammer Mjolnir and shouting "Odin!" Blake can summon the Viking warrior to help him, the two interacting and openly discussing their situations: Blake wants Thor off his back, but the latter will not be admitted into Asgard until he has proved himself worthy.
