With the announcement that Kenneth Branagh won't be back for a THOR sequel, who do you want to see direct the film instead?

Today, we have the announcement that THOR 2 is moving forward, aimed for a July 2013 release, but without Kenneth Branagh (who directed the first installment). Below, I've compiled a list of various film directors (some who've been mentioned for directing the sequel, some out of the box), and vote for the one who you think would do the best job to deliver a sequel as good as the first film (if not better).

I'll post the results in a couple weeks or so, so stay tuned!

THOR is still in theaters worldwide!

Well of course I would. Who wouldn't want another Thor movie?

@HailToTheKingBaby- Yeah Abrams seems like the best choice from the list. Awesomely epic director!

But I'd also be willing to give Duncan Jones a crack at it. He's an up-and-coming director with LOADS of potential. I loved his movie "Moon"

He passed on the Superman reboot but the fact he was wanted for that film...shows his merits.

I would say Chris Nolan but he does that "realistic" crap and I am pretty darn sure that wouldn't work in a Thor universe. My vote would have to be JJ Abrams.

None of the above (well Boyle probably because I've wanted the dude to do a CBM for ever or even jones)my pick would be Alfonso Cuaron.

Nolan he doesn't suit Thor, plus he's meant to be doing a biopic of Howard Hughes. Aronofsky will probably drop out because of "personal issues" plus he's doing the Noah movie, Peter Jackson doing that little movie called the Hobbit, I am guessing Martin Campbell being on the list is a joke. Singers probably going to be busy with his jack the whatever movie, wouldn't be surprised if he's involved with another x-men related movie. Del Toro's got a thousands of projects going on at the same time. Fav's doing that comedy for disney. JJ Abrams like Del Toro's got too much on his plate.

I Have no idea what Boyles got brewing, Duncan Jones I believe has nothing coming up probably the most likeliest candidate out of the list on here, but the dudes been snubbed two CBM's MOS and The Wolverine so he doesn't have luck on his side. So for me its either Jones or Cuaron

Branagh hadn't really done that big of a film before, so my guess is they'll find another unexpected director, definitely not a Nolan or Singer type that would want a huge budget.

It will someone that you have heard of but has done nothing blockbuster big. Like Favreau and Branagh and Whedon were when they picked them up. Oh, and cheap.

I don't think a big gun is going to direct the Thor sequel. Of this list maybe a guy like Campbell or Kosinski. Branagh was never a major league director to begin with, more of a solid journeyman director.

well, the ideal choice if Peter Jackson, but, i'd settle for that guy who did Descent and that Last Legion flick with Michael "young Magneto" Fassbender (forgot the title and director's name).
