Not in the movies.

I really love Chris Hemsworth's portrayal of "Thor" and besides there are plenty more female heroes in the Marvel Universe to use on the big and small screen.

I loved the female Thor in Earth X. I've got no problem with it. I'm just really hoping this new Thor doesn't turn out to be Amora.

Yes Thor is the blonde guy's name, but Odin and Loki have both rewritten the story in the sacred book allowing them to tie the identity to the magic of the hammer, hence its inscription. Donald Blake became Thor, as did Eric Masterson.

I thought it was settled on this site. We don't mind a female wielding Thor's hammer, but we do mind her, or anyone for that matter, using the name Thor. Unlike many other heroes, Thor is a birth given name, not a title, mantle, alter ego, etc, so there is only one Thor. Wielding his hammer does not make you Thor, it give you his God of Thunder powers, meaning the only title you now have is God(or Goddess) of thunder.

Just give us Valkyrie...stop changing characters to be PC and develop good stories of new charactes..Like M.R. Said the other day, how about respecting women enough to develop characters like Spider-Gwen or Silk....Instead of cheaply changing them and then acting like you did something amazing. It's not... Its cheap, lazy and divisive...

Michelle Rodriguez put it well when asked if she would play Green Lantern and the same logic apply here. It's simple character theft to appease some dumb diversity ideology. We already have girl Thor and if the idea worked those titles would have succeeded(Valkyerie & Thor Girl).

Yes the hammer should be passed down, and if it happens to be a woman then so be it, but that doesn't mean that individual becomes Thor. Beta Ray Bill did not become Thor when he picked it up the hammer, he gained the powers of Thor.

This is getting ooolllllllllllllldddddddddddddddd... Changing sex, changing race. Changing all these superficial, shallow aspects of a character for the sake of changing it, to look progressive and cutting edge. It's so [frick]ing old. Aren't people seeing through this nonsense already???

Damn! This doesn't take the place of really cutting edge progressive stuff! I like a Female Thor, but why's she gotta take the place of Thor! It's getting really stupid. Not trying to be PC about this nonsense just right!

The Odinson will eventually get Mjolnir back. Im the biggest Thor fan on the planet and was pissed with the whole female thor thing at first but it will pass. King Thor's existence proves as much.
