"I had lunch with Branaugh, who's the nicest guy in the world as well as the most talented. Months ago, when he was first starting on the movie, he said he would get a cameo for me."

"I haven’t heard from him since, but I think he has more important things to think of at the moment with the movie — like who he’s casting in it and how he’s going to film it," said Lee. "But I’m sure they’ll have something for me.

"When we had lunch, I was sure he had asked me to lunch because he wanted me to play Odin, but it was a big disappointment. I figure I’ll end up carrying his spear."

he's living an amazing life. He is the greatest comic book person in this life time. He's always excited for the next best thing. All his cameos are funny...best one is Iron-Man.

I love Stan's cameos. I think it's like playing a live action "Where's Waldo". LOL
Iron Man was his best and funniest yet... but I have a feeling that Thor will have a better one.
@MovieTheaterLad- That one was good. HA!

If Stan wants to play Odin he should play Odin! Hell if Stan wants to play Thor Stan should play Thor! If Stan wants to play every darn person in the whole movie Stan should play every person in the movie and then after we all go and see the movie we stand up applaud and leave happy knowing that we have been blessed just to see a legend like Stan Lee. Sorry for rambling but Stan Lee is awesome!!

I know I'm going to get crap for this but... are you all HIGH?! Stan Lee is an overbearing, arrogant BLOW-HARD! This just further proves that he's nothing more than a money-grubbing attention whore, and you guys love him for it? WTF people?

JoshWilding - 11/19/2009, 1:03 PM
loganoneil: Well, considering he created the character as well as pretty much every other Marvel character then I think he's entitled to a 10 second cameo!

@ logan

if it weren't for stan lee we wouldn't have the FF, avengers, captain america, spiderman, the x-men, the list goes on and on and on. how can you make that comment?? "wanna bet". like stan didn't create thor. and no i don't mean the thor of norse mythology. the marvel universe thor. how is he money grubbing? are you one of those people that thinks he's disrespecting jack kirby?

the bottom line is, stan lee is a living legend of this industry. without him, there wouldn't be any of this. i personally like his cameos. they don't hurt anything. not to mention, he's the creator of the chracters, so i'm sure he gets royalties from them in some capacity. if that makes you a money grubber, than my god i would like to grub me some money!

I like the Stan cameos better when they are minor... like when he was at the beach when Senator Kelly came out of the ocean. Wasn't a big fan of the Iron Man one (too much), but it's still nice to see him in the films.

CondogBurglar and a couple of you other guys said it. like WTF lol... he and Jack Kirby are solely responsible for the Marvel universe we know and love today. He has become the signature a Marvel movie, and hopefully they've done a full body scan of him that can be used after he passes.

@Logan - he was never a money grubbing whore. You must not have seen many of his interviews, because he's stated over and over that he was always in it primarily for the expression and creativity the medium allows, and he's pushed the envelope and nurtured the shit out of ideas the "money grubbing whores" thought were utterly insane, and mindlessly unprofitable - Ditko could never have done alot of the stuff he did anywhere else but with Marvel under Stan. It's always been about imagination and creativity with him. How can you even say that lol... that's just plain ingnant...

My favorite cameo so far is Iron Man - it is flamboyant for sure, but that fits the character and movie. I'm with alot of you guys in thinking Thor can top it.

isnt thor a mythological figure? If so then he didnt really "create" him. Merely reinterpreted or reinvented.
Matowar
Matowar - 11/28/2009, 1:12 AM
Well the Norse mythology Thor had red hair but Stan Lee's Thor is a blonde. So Stan basically used some history and CREATED a new Thor. Another thing I dont care if Stan has so much money he wipes his arse with it. He deserves to do what ever he wants when it comes to marvel anything!!
