Deadline is reporting that Jaimie Alexander (Thor; Blindspot) has officially joined the cast of Marvel Studios' Thor: Love and Thunder, reprising her fan-favorite role as Lady Sif, who last appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2013's Thor: The Dark World.
She joins a cast headlined by Chris Hemsworth (Avengers: Infinity War; Avengers: Endgame) as the God of Thunder, along withTessa Thompson (Avengers: Endgame; Thor: Ragnarok) as Valkyrie, Academy Award-winner Natalie Portman (Thor; Avengers: Endgame) as Jane Foster, Christian Bale (The Dark Knight; Ford v Ferrari) as Gorr the God Butcher, Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok; Jojo Rabbit) as Korg, Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy; Jurassic World: Dominion) as Star-Lord, and (possibly) Vin Diesel (Fast & Furious; Guardians of the Galaxy) as Groot.
In addition to her appearance in the Thor: Ragnarok follow-up, it's believed that she may also have a role in the Disney+ series Loki, which would reunite her with fellow Thor alum Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers; Thor: Ragnarok). No further details are currently available, so we're not sure if she's set to appear in season one or two, but with the series due out in May, we should get more info on that front sooner rather than later.
Production on Thor: Love and Thunder is set to begin next month in Australia, with Taika Waititi back in the director's chair. The Jojo Rabbit director also penned the script with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Someone Great).
Thor: Love and Thunder roars into theaters May 6, 2022.
