Thor: Ragnarok was absolutely spectacular when it comes to visual effects, and now we have a behind-the-scenes video reel that provides a glimpse into how these dazzling effects were created.

The VFX video below provides us before and after looks at some of the other-wordly vistas and CGI characters from Thor: Ragnarok. It's pretty amazing to see the side-by-side comparisons of how it look before all the special effects were put in along with the color grading. Thor: Ragnarok was certainly a sight to behold, but you can see from this video just how much work has to go in to making something as visually stunning and beautiful as this movie.

I didnt like ragnarok. Waiting on black panther like Thor never happened.

@Antithesis - I agree. Without Cate Blanchett that movie was just plain bad. I have no idea what this Matt guy is talking about. The CGI was horrible in this movie.

@DCMultiverse - it wasn't a terrible movie, I just didn't like it. Cate was wasted, some of the cg was indeed badly done, and a bunch of the jokes didn't land with me. I hated I hated Tessa Thompson in it wich sucks because I normally like her.

@LaserKing - Yeah I really loved this movie. And man, that beginning Surtar scene was fantastic. I just wish he got Miljnor back. Love that darn hammer. I also hope they go back to a slightly more comic accurate outfit with the red cape again.

LOVED the movie (as if that wasn't obvious from my username). So many memorable lines and scenes. It's just so immensely rewatchable.

Really enjoyed this film. Never really enjoyed the first 2 Thor films. They finally got it right with ragnarok.

I need a gif of the part around the 8:23 mark ASAP. Thor lifting the undead soldier, jumping in the air, throwing him against the other warriors only to make lightning rain from above destroying them. that is absolutely badass. Ragnarok's whole climax is probably the best one out of all the superhero movies this year.

@antman8o8 - Thor was close to being eaten in that scene.

The beginning scene was so great.

Q: How fast can Thor w/ Mjolnir? In TDW, Mjolnir was able to fly into space in a few secs, but in Ragnarok, Thor was close to being caught up to by the flying giant rat/goat.

What was a worse move, Jimmy Olsen getting killed in his DCFU debut or Brunhilde getting killed in her MCU debut?

@BlackPhillip - I don't think that was brunhilde, just an easter egg or reference
