THE AVENGERS Director Joss Whedon Calls THOR: RAGNAROK "A Modern Masterpiece"

Even though Joss Whedon is no longer involved in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his output is still valued. Popular opinion has it that he was the one who got Thor right, as Whedon was the first to discover Chris Hemsworth’s incredible comic timing. Taika Waititi continues his “fun” take on Thor and the result is fabulous, as not only the audience, but critics as well loved the movie.

In the short tweet The Avengers director expressed his admiration for the New Zealander’s work and calls Thor: Ragnaroka modern masterpiece”. That’s quite a praise considering that Whedon helmed one of the best reviewed and beloved comic-book movies of the past decade and now he’s got a chance to work on another massive production, Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

Did you have a chance to see Thor: Ragnarok and if the answer is positive, do you agree with Whedon? Be sure to leave your spoiler-free thoughts down below!

Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3, 2017.

Loved the movie, it's funny and energetic, but I don't think it goes on my top5 MCU.

What I like the most is that they make some bold choices with this one. Specially the one that explains WHY we haven't had an Infinity War trailer yet. It would spoil something that happens in this movie.

He repeats "hilarious" twice in his tweet along with the hashtag #hilarious. Is this sarcasm?

Some DCEU fanatics will probably start hating Joss again lol

But I'm glad to hear this. Joss is still the man because of Avengers to me. And I'm really happy for Taika Waititi. I need to watch more of his movies.

@BlindWedjat - Uh, no. I'm a fanboy, but have been a lifelong DC fan more than Marvel. I think what he said is fantastic.

Ragnarok is really enjoyable but I think it needed another 10 or 15 mins to flesh out certain plot points that got skimmed over.
