THOR: THE DARK WORLD Reshoots Underway

It appears that reshoots for Marvel Studios' Thor: The Dark World are underway as Lady Sif actress Jaimie Alexander has revealed on twitter that she's back in 'Asgard.' Samuel L. Jackson also made a quick trip to the UK a few days ago...

The fandom for Thor: The Dark World is pretty large, especially considering the enormous fan base actor Tom Hiddleston enjoys. The following for Chris Hemsworth (Thor Odinson) and Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif) is nothing to sneeze at either. In that respect, fans have been analyzing a few recent tweets from Alexander trying to discern what exactly Alexander was preparing to do for the Thor sequel. It was expected that Alexander was preparing to do 'something' more but was it ADR work or actual reshoots? Well now it appears that we have our answer.

Interesting enough, Samuel L. Jackson also revealed via twitter that he made a quick trip to the UK while in the middle of filming Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The majority of 'The Dark World' was filmed at Iver's Pinewood Sutdios. It's entirely possible that rather than reshoots, an end-credit or stinger scene was filmed. Filming for the Phase II Marvel Studios film previously wrapped in September. The film is scheduled to be released on November 8th in US theaters.

Can't wait for this! I hope we get to see the 2 1/2 hour cut though. Not starting any flame wars but I'm wondering who would win in a fight (hand-to-hand combat), Faora or Sif? Oh and the fight should be WITHOUT armor. :P

Reshoots happen all the time, no big deal. I'm more interested in the fact that SLJ made a trip to the UK in the middle of filming Cap. Could be something there possibly.

This film has the potential to be the best of phase 2. I just hope the vision that the director originally had is given the light of day- back off marvel (please, pretty please). Although Chris can carry a film alone, with a director, like this, with such a clear vision for this movie's world (that despite so little shown in the trailer, was perfectly suited for a gritty huge harsh world), it will be a huge change and will bring new respect to the marvel name. Seriously. (Hopefully).

Umm..sorry,Asgardians are tough but they don't posses the speed a superpowered Kryptonian has. Speed kills.

Faora would beat Sif's sexy ass & Zod would beat a "god".
Superman can defeat any Asgardian but would ultimately lose if they actually employ "magic".

If its strictly a fist fight,Kryptonians defeat Asgardians.

I can see Fury making an after credit appearance with something teasing the GOTG.
Maybe asking Thor if Groot is one his people

Re-shoots are USUALLY a good thing. That means during the editing process, the director finds somethings he or she is not happy with and knows a better way to approach the material and get better takes or completely fresh scenes to add in, thus re-shooting it if the funding is there. With Jaimies accident, perhaps they didn't get the shots they wanted with her first time around.
And I bet the post credit scene will deal with GOTG in someway, since Gunn and co. will begin shooting very soon and may offer up a quick glimpse in time for Thors theatrical run.

no way Marvel will make Thor as powerfull and epic as Superman on MOS.

Pretty sad, since Thor is my fave Avenger, but his first movie and the team film left me dissapointed with his powers display

@gambgel They wont make him as POWERFUL as Supes. Do you know how much CGI is needed to make those OTT effect? But he will be as epic. Thor's got the hammer, the lightning and weather control and he fights with skill and hand to hand combat. We will finally get to see Thor unleashed like at the beginning of Thor when he fought the Frost Giants. Except for a whole movie to himself this time.

Yea, im a Thor fan but Feora is quicker. With that said..in the comics all Asgardian tech is magic and Superman/Kryptonians have zero protection against magic...they are both hot, i would rather watch them get along.. :)

"Umm..sorry,Asgardians are tough but they don't posses the speed a superpowered Kryptonian has. Speed kills."

They don't need the speed since they have micro-reaction speed. Well, I know Thor does. Supes may have the speed advantage over Thor, but he still wouldn't beat Thor. Like you said, magic would hurt Supes, and Thor has plenty of that. Thor could end the fight pretty quick if he uses Mjolnir to absorb Supes' sun radiation, leaving Supes defenseless.
BlackPhillip
BlackPhillip - 6/16/2013, 9:55 AM
Thor: TDW has potential to be as action-packed as MOS, but Marvel is not going to spend all that money on CGI. I really want to see a flying Thor for once.
Berger45
Berger45 - 6/16/2013, 10:03 AM
@TheHeat - What is micro-reaction speed? Do you mean reflexes?
Now, there is after all a difference between distinct weakness and having no resistance against a certain thing; magic isn't a weakness for Supes but he has no (super)natural restistance towards it.
If Thor absorbed the entire radiation from the sun, then Supes might have a problem but I dont think Thor has that kind of power, and if he was tries to drain Supes of radiation, the sun will just nullify it?
Superman has beaten Thor , so it's already settled.

Re-shoots are pretty normal

And fans of MOS were staying for the full credits in hopes of an after credit scene
the disappointment was audible
so let's not mock the excitement that adds

@nubase you drone, reshoots happen in majority of films, not just CBMs.
