Thor: Ragnarok is heading towards its third offshore and second domestic weekend and things are looking good for the God of Thunder so far. With $147.9 million in North America and $354.4 million internationally, the threequel has accumulated a mighty $502.3 million at the worldwide box office and is now the twelfth consecutive Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to reach that impressive benchmark.

The Taika Waititi helmed release is playing above Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Doctor Strange overseas and is expected to make another $60 million in North America this weekend. In China, Thor: Ragnarok has so far grossed $69.8 million, a significant haul which is likely to keep rising this week.

By Sunday, it's expected to have topped the $645 million made by Thor: The Dark World during its entire box office run and it's widely believed it will ultimately finish its run with $800 million - $900 million. It's clear to see that Marvel has managed to breathe new life into the franchise, no easy feat when a series is in its third instalment! What are your box office predictions for Thor: Ragnarok

Good movies bring people into the theatre. Its obvious that a little light hearted action appeals to people.
