Cool stuff Brent! I am all for our fanboy subculture exploding all over into different types of media and attracting new fans everywhere. I said it many times before...."It's a great time to be a fanboy/fangirl!"

Still they kept it different enuff not to get sued, but Thor is a Mythical character so I am cool with it. It will still draw little kids toward Marvels Thor.

Besides Marvel got Thor wrong. In Norse Myth He has Red hair and a red beard. He is not blond and clean shaven. Not many Norsemen were clean shaven back then.

@ROMACK/IronClad: I agree! Plus, I think they said the game will be selling for, like, $5 or something ridiculously cheap like that.

@ROMACK: Yeah, Marvel put their own twist on him so that he couldn't be copied. It's hard for others to come up with a blonde, clean-shaven Thor without you immediately thinking of Marvel's Thor. Still, there's one image of Young Thor where he has the full armor, helmet, etc., and he looks A LOT like Marvel's Thor.

@grif: Oh, come on. This looks like mindless fun and you know it.
ROMACK
ROMACK - 7/3/2010, 4:39 AM
I really shoudn't have said "got him wrong", but rather "went their own way".
Yet in this game if he looked too much like the Thor from Hero Squad or something, Marvels Lawyers would have made some calls. I should have been more clear.
Thanks guys!

Wow, I guess this is meant to hold over fans until the Thor movie comes out. Looks more like a computer game rather than a PS3 game.

So this has nothing to do with the movie or the comic? Then why is it here?
Destroyer14

@CBArtist Because Thor is a comic book character.
ROMACK

@Anil Not in Norse Myth. Only in Marvel.

@jusme6: Heh.

@Anil/ROMACK: Yeah, if you read the Poetic Edda or Prose Edda, the only two "official" sources of Norse mythology, Thor has red hair.

@Dr.Donald: Be nice.

@CBArtist: To answer your question, no, this is not directly related to the Thor comic book published by Marvel Comics. Why is it posted? Because it is an item of interest to comic book and comic book movie fans. If CBM only published articles about movies that are based on comic books, there would not be very much news on a daily basis. That is why we allow "related" news topics to appear on the site.

I read somewhere that it will be available for only $5, but don't quote me on that.

I'll buy this for $5, sure.

@Username: If it's from YouTube or some other outside source, just copy the embed code and paste it into your comment. It's usually starts with "embed" or "object".

But, if it's only on your computer, you'll have to go into your user account, go to Editor's Tools/Videos and upload the video. Then it will generate an embed code that you can insert.

@Username: Ah, I see you read my comment and figured it out. Kudos! Nice vid!

Thor is one of my all-time favorite characters. Walt Simonson's run beginning with Thor #337 is one of the greatest runs on any title, in my opinion.

I'm excited that there will be a Thor movie because I never imagined the day that it would happen. However, I'm already prepared to be disappointed, despite the incredible cast. In a perfect "Brent World" scenario, Thor would be a violent, bloody Rated-R movie about Ragnarok in which the Asgardians fight for their lives against the Frost Giants, Fire Giants, Trolls, Midgard Serpent, Loki, et al.

There are so many things wrong with this...1.It's not Marvel's Thor obviously, proof being Marvel's name was no where on that vid. 2. He has red hair and freckles 3. WTF this isn't "young Thor" more like "Toddler Thor" 4. The Load screens are probably going to have him getting his diaper changed by Odin or some kinda garbage such as that

What a monumental waste of money, time, and peoples resources. I mean does a game like this even get podcasts and if they do, what would they say? "Uhhh i'm really stoked to be making a game about Thor as a 5 year old, I think a lot of people can identify and appreciate Thor as a 5 year old because uhhh...everyone has been 5 at one time?" I mean lets face it what five year old hasn't wielded a magical hammer and beat up a frost giant?!
GeekSexy
GeekSexy - 7/3/2010, 2:21 PM
It's basically "The Legend of Zelda" for a Marvel character. I like it.

@Hamm3rtym3 dumb? maybe you should re-read my post before name calling, i mean what were you even trying to do by calling me dumb? Tell ya what, i'll meet you in the playground after school lmao

I'll re-post since you didn't get it the first time. 1. It's not Marvel's Thor obviously, proof being Marvel's name is no where on the video. (Please read people's posts carefully before having a fit on the internet...its kind of embarrassing bro)
GeekSexy
GeekSexy - 7/3/2010, 3:22 PM
I'm sorry, but why exactly is it dumb to come to a "Comic Book" Movie website and automatically think of the comic book character the first time I see something? There's nothing about the visuals that would lead me to believe that it wasn't a stylized version of Marvel's Thor. Just because two people mentioned Marvel doesn't mean that the majority of the people didn't think the same thing. It's obviously being released to cash in on all the interest that's being created by the upcoming "Thor" film. It's not as if I don't understand that there is a separate Norse mythology version of Thor. I'm well aware of the difference. There was nothing in the article to specify which Thor was being represented. Plus, who says "dum-dum" anymore? LOL

LOVE the designs!!!!!! but i doubt this is marvel... just a generic version.

the helmet has a horn
Hela is called Hel...
stuff like that point to the fact that it is just generic thor.

plus, marvel's name would be all over this if it was from them.
