Roaring to life through WBA and Studio4°C’s use of the Japanese animated artistry of anime, “ThunderCats” characters Lion-O, Mumm-Ra, Panthro, Cheetara and others will spring off the screen with realistic cat-like characteristics inconceivable in previous incarnations.

The new “ThunderCats” will appeal to viewers who have loved the characters all their lives as well as young newcomers to the franchise. A sweeping tale combining swords and science and boasting ferocious battles with the highest of stakes, the grand origin story of Prince Lion-O’s ascension to the throne – and of those who would thwart his destiny at any cost – takes on epic dimensions in this sharp new telling. As the forces of good and evil battle each other in the quest for the fabled Stones of Power, Lion-O and his champions learn valuable lessons of loyalty, honor and mortality in every episode.

“ThunderCats” is executive produced by Sam Register (“Teen Titans,” “Ben 10,” “Batman: The Brave and the Bold”). Michael Jelenic (“Batman: The Brave and the Bold,” “Wonder Woman”) and Ethan Spaulding (“Avatar: The Last Airbender”) are the producers.

Interesting. Snarf kind of looks like a mutant-reptile-insect-cat-thing... I can live with that.

Snarf does look pretty cute.
Does anyone know if Lion-O is just starting out young like in the original series or if he's going to look that young the whole time?

Is that Cheetara pre-nose job? One season in and that nose will be mysteriously slimmer and the breasts will get bigger and perkier. Looks like Snarf already visited the Surgeon and asked for a Michael Jackson....By that I mean nose, also, like MJ I'm not sure the new look will go down well with kids.

Why the freak, does everything that was great in the 80's have to come back in some crappy form of anime?! This is gonna suck.

Lion-O without muscles???? Besides drawing and animation in the past I did like Thundercats because they looked stronger with those fit bodies! (same thing for He-Man...) but this version looks "nice" but not as powerful as before... I know that japanese heroes are slimer than american... but I don't enjoy these designs so much!

They look about as durable (NOT) as those Teen Titans toys that can out with that Anime style Cartoon Network had out a while ago. I'll watch it, but not to keen on the designs yet.

Fan of anime or not, Lion-o's teenage/twilight face just doesn't look very intimidating, or aggressive, or anything I'd want to see on an action figure. Same for the drawing. He looks like he's gonna try to talk to me about the lord, ya know, but with a sword....?

Hopefully this snarf will be mute, or at least less obnoxious. I'd still like to see Mumm-Ra throw it into that boiling cauldron of his with some onions, cayenne pepper, celery, corn, mushrooms, and a pinch of cilantro for seasoning. Cooks for one hour, serves 8.
