Get ready for one of the biggest movie weekends of the year as Disney's Mary Poppins Returns, Warner Bros.' Aquaman, and Paramount's Bumblebee all make their way into theaters. Based on reviews, it looks like Travis Knight's Transformers spinoff, which is currently boasting a 96% Certified Fresh rating on review aggregator RottenTomatoes, may be the most worthwhile way to spend your time this weekend (although we highly recommend checking out all three - and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse too!).

With Bumblebee opening in just a few days, Paramount has released a kickass new extended critics TV spot, featuring more than a few snippets of never-before-seen new footage from the Hailee Steinfeld-
starrer.

Plus, here are two new featurettes spotlighting Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld) and Agent Burns (John Cena):

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.

Bumblebee features:
Director: Travis Knight
Hailee Steinfeld as Charlie Watson
John Cena as Agent Jack Burns
Jorge Lendeborg Jr. as Memo
John Ortiz as Dr. Powell
Jason Drucker as Otis Watson
Pamela Adlon as Sally Watson
Rory Markham as Jake Adams
Rachel Crow as Celia
Abby Quinn as Alice
Gracie Dzienny as Tina
Ricardo Hoyos as Trip
Kenneth Choi as Ken
Stephen Schneider as Ron
Len Cariou as Hank
Dylan O'Brien as Bumblebee
Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime
Grey Griffin as Arcee
Steve Blum as Wheeljack
Andrew Morgado as Cliffjumper
Kirk Baily as Brawn
Dennis Singletary as Ratchet
Angela Bassett as Shatter
Justin Theroux as Dropkick
David Sobolov as Blitzwing
Jon Bailey as Shockwave

Bumblebee hits theaters December 21

@NinnesMBC - I've loved Transformers since I was a kid. Growing up in the 80s, you had no rep unless you [frick]ed wit Transformers. Transformers was the shit! I mildly enjoyed the first live action movie but the rest were.... well I'll just politely say they weren't my cup of tea. I saw the LaBeouf trilogy and made it half way through the first Marky Mark one and turned it off. I want a dope Transformers movie. Idk if Bumblebee is it, but they had my money the second they showed the original 80s style Autobots in that trailer. Even if the movie is trash and that scene is 3 minutes long, it will be worth my ticket.

@ArthurFleck - How they retained Michael Bay for five of these movies is beyond me. Each movie got exponentially worse. I loved the first despite its flaws and massive plotholes. Good popcorn action flick. The second I appreciate just for Devastator. Fast-forward through the racist trash of the idiot twins Michael Bay spewed. The third was boring. The fourth I made it halfway through on streaming before I decided not to waste any more time. The fifth I didn't bother with at all. And this is from a lifelong TF fan. I'm hoping Bumblebee has set a new standard.

Already saw it and my only complaint about it is that im supposed to believe that the transformers haven't been to earth yet but they still look like they transformed from earth vehicles...in a galaxy far away I guess they still have 18 wheelers.

This was originally sold as like the first spinoff/solo sort of movie for Transformers, right? cause with the more promotion I see, and the amount of other Transformers I see that are in it (including, whaddya know, Optimus Prime), honestly I don't see then how it's not just basically like "Transformers 7", or whatever the hell number they're up to now lol

@CaptCoulson - I haven't seen the movie but I would not be surprised if this acts like a complete reboot of the franchise and they just used the "Bumblebee" title to seperate it from the other movies

@CaptCoulson - this is a prequel(or reboot?) Set in the 80s, and (spoiler) all the other autobots in the movie are pretty much just cameos.

Sounds great. Hopefully we can get more films set in the 80s. Keep these guys on board. They "get" it.
