Michael Bay In Talks With Mark Wahlberg For TRANSFORMERS 4

Michael Bay In Talks With Mark Wahlberg For TRANSFORMERS 4

It seems as if the Ted/The Fighter actor might be one of these new cast members we have heard about. Twitch report that the infamous director is in "early" talks with Wahlberg to star in the fourth installment of his Transformers franchise..

Could we see Marky Mark take on Decepticons in Transformers 4? According to Twitch we could indeed. The site reckon Michael Bay is "having early conversations" with the actor to star in the next installment in the block-busting Paramount movie series. They don't have too much more info on it, aside from a few new details from Ehren Kruger's script. Word is the story would "revolve around an adult star (the part being discussed with Wahlberg) and his teenage child with the idea being that the child would then grow to be the focus of subsequent entries in the series." Could that teenager be the female lead we have heard is rumored to take over from Shia LaBeouf? Guess time will tell. Expect to hear a lot more eon this very soon, but for now what would you guys think of Wahlberg running around spouting gibberish to a green screen in a Transformers movie?

I want SOLDIERS. Skip the Witwicky/regular Joe bullshit. If they had stuck with the Qitar slodiers from the first 2 and 3 wouldnt have been so awful. All Michael Bay is good at is making things go boom so just make it strictly a war film. IMO this SHOULD have been a movie about the war for cybertron but o well. As for Marky Mark i like the idea i just dread him being the unsuspecting hero

Not a bad idea. Star power will lure skeptics and look good in the trailers.

I just love Transformers movies that totally ignore Transformers.

Actually I'll backtrack there..I did enjoy the first one for what it was. But they ruined any sense of fun or adventure with those turds they released after it.

He's going to be playing the grown up version of Shia Labeouf.

So who's this female lead supposed to be? An original creation or someone from the Transformers mythos? I'm not too familiar with the entire franchise. (Though I did know Sam Witwicky is based on Spike from the 80s Transformers cartoons)

I say take out the robots entirely! And the explosions! Make it a two and a half hour movie with a bunch of people in a very serious discussion about what was wrong with the first three!

@IM53- You see, Bay won't do that. That would mean going into space, which means no military.

@Ror Maybe, I'm thinking the humans could be dressed like dogs and humping eachother while having the serious discussion.

@rormachine aren't you the same guy that gave a 5 star rating to the hunger games....well I'd rather watch another transformers movie than another over hyped turd hunger games movie.

pro346, actually it was 4 and a half. But if want to keep watching giant robots fart out parachutes, go right ahead.

I don't see how an appearance by Mark Wahlberg is going to save this movie.

Here's some more eye candy:

Show of hands...despite all your put downs, who's still going to see it any way?

It's a movie about giant robots based on an '80's...one more time, EIGHTIES...cartoon produced primarily to sell toys. What are you guys expecting to take from that?

I've seen all three. I'm not expecting some Academy Award winning cinema masterpiece. I bought a ticket to see crap blow up and hot chicks. That's what I got, and I'm good. Bring on number four.

@KamenRiderJ22 One man's "horrible" movie is another man's box office smash. So obviously somebody likes these films. And if you don't like them, don't watch. There's no sense in getting all worked up over something that you can't control and have the choice to avoid.

There's not going to be an 'all robot' movie. This isn't animation, it's live action. So until the day comes when the cost of CGI effects plummet, you can forget about it.
