New Transformers Show Coming Next Month

With the sad news that Prime won't be back until next year comes the news of a new Transformers show! Hit the jump for the details. (Though you may be disappointed.)

The reason why I say you may be disappointed is that this show will be aimed at a younger audience than Prime, the title is Transformers: Rescue Bots. Below is official press release from The Hub.

Created for the younger generation of Transformers fans, the new series from the creators of “Transformers Prime” will feature a simpler, more traditional animation style in a show that centers on a group of Autobots charged by Optimus Prime himself with protecting and learning about humans while stationed on an island off the Eastern seaboard that serves as a high-tech testing ground. Voice talent include Steve Blum (voice of Starscream on “Transformers Prime”), Maurice LaMarche (voice of Morbo and Calculon on “Futurama”), Lacey Chabert ("Party of Five") and LeVar Burton (“Star Trek: The Next Generation”).

We're excited about having the new series AND season two of “Transformers Prime” on The Hub’s schedule early next year!

"Transformers Rescue Bots" Series Logline: From the creators of "Transformers Prime" comes an all-new animated series following a group of Autobots charged with a mission to protect and learn about humans. Stationed on an island off the Eastern seaboard by Optimus Prime, the "Transformers Rescue Bots" – Heatwave, Boulder, Blades and Chase – team with a human family of first responders including a police chief, firefighter, rescue pilot and engineer to maintain peace and safety in their new found home. Alongside their new human friends, the Transformers Rescue Bots learn teamwork and heroism in a series that brings action, adventure, heart, and humor to the Transformers brand
.

Look for a special sneak peak presentation of the show on December 17th.

Aahhh,
I can't complain about one for the kids. This means I'll have Transformers' toy design and coffee table books to marvel at 'til I'm old...

I DO wish, however, that we could get through the "Bayformers" era and onto a new overall design.

I'm just glad Rescue Bots isn't coming at the expense of Prime. So that means one more TF show me and my kids can watch together. Seriously, the little tykes eat up any incarnation of TFs, be it the old 80s cartoon, the current Prime or the current Bay flicks.

Judging from the toys, the designs look like TF animated. I'm wondering if my 4 yr old daughter will take to the Rescue Bots or stick with her movieverse/ generations Bumblebee and such.

The animated movie was fun but utterly dumber than the live action, fanboys who claim it was great really aint stepped out of those child-eyes they have for it. All it was is a 90 minute advert for the new line of space toys Hasbro wanted to replace the G1 toys with because of licensing issues with motor companies. Hence G1 characters die and the G2 characters can't!

That movie would have you believe that no humans apart from Spikes son are alive on planet Earth, not even his mother!! The Decepticons fly to Earth and fight all night with no assistance for the Autobots by Earths armies, Police force of even a kindly neigbour! It was filled with stupid logic like a planet of Junk robots and another planet of robots where the Quintessons waste all day applying silly court trials to other robots. After a mere two seasons of Transformers where Cyberton was brought light years away to Earths orbit by the space bridge. Not only does this film give us another robot planet minutes away from Earth but it gives us THREE, including the one Unicron eats in the opening prologue! ...small robot universe!!!

Then you have break-dancing Wheelie the rhyming robot with a slingshot!! Decepticons blowing trumpets at Starscream's coronation (they don't have lungs to make air, they don't even breathe!!) Ultra Magnus getting blasted to bits but then put together and given life like its nothing while Prime and all the other old Toyline robots from the G1 get killed and stay dead. Even Kup gets torn apart and put together whit no worries!

And finally the end that made no sense at all like Return of the Jedi. Despite the Deceptcons ruling Cybertron at the start of the film, one ship with about 8 Autobots and a few survivors inside Unicorn somehow claim the planet and celebration after Unicron is defeated. Just how does those numbers work fanboys?

Sure its a fun to watch flick but its stoooooooopid! The live action films are notably superior and squash that fan flick by billions of dollars as well!

@thewolfx Not talking about Prime. I was talking about the one we had before that. The one where Optimus WASN'T the leader of the Autobots.

Almost every big licensed movie is an advert for toys. What's your point?

Ceejay said: "That movie would have you believe that no humans apart from Spikes son are alive on planet Earth, not even his mother!! The Decepticons fly to Earth and fight all night with no assistance for the Autobots by Earths armies, Police force of even a kindly neigbour!"

It's been shown time and again that human weapons are useless against the Transformers. Why waste human lives on a futile attempt at war?

Ceejay said: "It was filled with stupid logic..."

Dog, it's a cartoon. Your point fails.

Ceejay said:"After a mere two seasons of Transformers where Cyberton was brought light years away to Earths orbit by the space bridge. Absolute nonsense. There are no robot planets minutes away from Earth. The space bridge incident you mentioned only happened once at that was on the tv series. If your gripe is with the existence of another robot planet, that's also a fail as almost every alien movie shows a race of aliens that are humanoid like us. You want to bring up insane coincidences, you better check Star Trek, Star Wars, District 9, and nearly every other alien movie.

Ceejay said: "Then you have break-dancing Wheelie the rhyming robot with a slingshot!! Decepticons blowing trumpets at Starscream's coronation (they don't have lungs to make air, they don't even breathe!!)"

Megatron has sharp teeth in Michael Bay's movie. Why? Robots don't eat. There are 2 robots in the 2nd film that claim they can't read. How? Is there something wrong with their scanners? A couple small robots in the same film pass gas. Really? They have intestines? This shows your favoritism toward Michael Bay's films.

Ceejay said: "Ultra Magnus getting blasted to bits but then put together and given life like its nothing while Prime and all the other old Toyline robots from the G1 get killed and stay dead. Even Kup gets torn apart and put together whit no worries!"

True. But both Optimus and Megatron get resurrected in Michael Bay's films, yet others don't.

Shockwave specifically tells the Decepticons to “scramble,” when Unicron attacks Cybertron, thus leading to his death along with many other Decepticons. It’s not just a ship of 8 Autobots and a few survivors inside of Unicron. The movie tells the story of the Autobots and Decepticons we care to know about. Not the thousands or millions of grunts fighting off screen.

Ceejay said: “Sure its a fun to watch flick but its stoooooooopid! The live action films are notably superior and squash that fan flick by billions of dollars as well!”

I’ve just shown otherwise. The film is fun, like you said. That's all it needed to be. Hasbro should just continue the g1 cartoon series, since that was the most successful. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel.

@Luminus Hasbro ended the original series because it was going down in popularity! With declining ratings and money loss, they had to end it at some point!
