According to Showbiz Spy, Jason Statham is being lined up to take over as lead character in the next Transformers movie. Apparently, the fantastic box office takings since the movie opened last Wednesday have convinced Paramount to move ahead with a fourth instalment, and the British star is their top pick! As usual, take the following (along with the apparent plans for a fourth movie) with a pinch of salt...



"One of the stars being mentioned is Rosie’s boyfriend Jason Statham," says a Hollywood insider.

"It’s clear the franchise still has huge potential but with a new leading man capable of taking Transformers in a new, darker direction. Jason could be just the man to do that and his relationship with Rosie would be an added bonus in marketing the movie."


Starring Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, Alan Tudyk, Ken Jeong, Patrick Dempsey, and John Malkovich, Tranformers: Dark of the Moon is out now!

One of my biggest pet peeves:

The past tense of "light" is "lit". It is "greenlit", not "greenlighted".

And for future reference, because I see this mistake all the time around here: the past tense of "cast" is "cast". Not "casted".

transporter teaming up with transformers sounds like a crazy fan fic. and seriously this isn't surprising Transformers after all is one of Paramount big franchises.Don't get who the leading man is I wanna know who's going to direct it

It appears that Bay is definitely not gonna direct, and Paramount reportedly wants to continue with or without him, so I'm not surprised they're reportedly planning a fourth film.
But Statham as lead? Sorry, but I'd rather see a reboot.

The main reason I had hope for TF3 was that it could the END. Obviously that's not the case.
The studio is going to "milk this cow dry". I'm still going to see TF3 because I'm a 3D aficionado :P

I agree they should reboot. I wanna see a well written CGI Transformers prequel about the War for Cybertron, one that is a lot like the game.
Also they should revive the Stan Bush soundtrack!!

Transformers 3 was such a pointless movie that i'm still upset for wasting my time to see it. That's 2 hours of my life that I wil lnever get back. And the fact that I pai xtra to see it in 3D hurts even more. they just need to reboot the franchise.
