The interstellar war between the Autobots and Decepticons shifts onto overdrive following the discovery of Sentinel Prime in this sequel from director Michael Bay. Only a precious handful of officials in the government and military realize that the 1969 moon mission was the result of an event that threatened profound repercussions for the entire human race. When the Apollo 11 astronauts discover the wrecked remains of Sentinel Prime on the surface of our natural satellite, they bring him back to planet Earth. But Sentinel Prime wasn't the only alien object on the moon, and when a malevolent new enemy makes its presence known, only the Autobots can save mankind from certain destruction.

Starring Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, Alan Tudyk, Ken Jeong, Patrick Dempsey, and John Malkovich, Tranformers: Dark of the Moon is set to be released on July 1, later this year!

it definetly looks action packed & has the best cgi of all the summer films.

it will be the second highest grossing film of the year.

IMAX 3D FTW!

Native 3-D looks better than post-converted, imo.

Thumbs up to Mr. Bay for filming w/ 3-D cameras.

"I love this car." lol, Rosie's ugly here and there.

Epic Action Scenes, {BOOM!} Excited to see this...

@marvel72 Second to Harry?

Transformers has the best CGI I've ever seen. Bay must have ILM's top men on the case. But to be fair to other films, Transformers have all metal surfaces while other movies have organic CGI creatures and characters that are harder to pull off realistically.

I'm not a huge fan of 3D, but I think this will look great in IMAX.

- We need a reboot
- make it a period film set in the 80's
- Bumble Bee is a Bug
- get a better Director that makes the robots look good and not make it look like a fraking car commercial
- Make it about Spark Plug and Spike and lose the Whitwikis
- Make Megatron a size-changing hand gun
- no slap-stick comedy with juvenile toilet humor
- no transformers with testicles
- no transformers that wizz on people

@ jarjarbinks

Period film? That's a Fanboy fantasy as only the insanely small 0.001% number of still griping fanboys still want to see robots turning into microscopes, cameras, handguns and audio tape cassette recorders! Thank god the world can get by without these old kids still stuck in the 1980's!

This film is gonna put the shit back on top where the first flick took it. That 2nd movie was a mess and a half but this one looks OUTSTANDING and has all the potential to deliver in spades, can't wait!

Sorry @jarjarbinks, but what you got there is a recipe for failure. No offense, but to me what you listed were the absolute most unappealing things about the Transformers franchise, any of which could single-handedly be a cinematic "death sentence" if included in a film. Standing out most on your "list" is the "size changing gun". You're kidding, right? lol. Explain please.

@Poopee

It was filmed in IMAX 3D in parts and post converted in others. The big action scenes are filmed with IMAX 3D (and rumor is it's better 3D than AVATAR). The post coverted stuff was for the non-action scenes. Pretty much everything you see in the trailers is IMAX 3D.

It looks like it'll be pretty fun!

@CapFan79

Not a single frame of this film was filmed in "IMAX 3D" the majority of the film was shot in digital 3D and the rest with 35mm film which was then converted into 3D as Bay didnt think there was much point filming a close up of someones face in 3D as the depth would be neg-liable so it was subtley converted instead.

it is being digitally remastered to go on the IMAX screen in 3D but unlike the dark knight and unlike some scenes of the last transformers movie, none of it will fill the whole screen and none of it will be IMAX quality.
