Terrible stuff. A beard on a robot?...stupid.
I know it's supposed to give him a personality but it's distractingly bad.
Why do they design these with all that over the top detail?

They don't look cool at all..not Transformers but TrashBots.
A real good design team would realize keeping it simple is better.
The mech on Pacific Rim bots look much better, these films don't resemble true Transformers at all.

Can't deny it.
Bay's team hires excellent artists.

The end product may not be good, but the talent involved with the art aspect is top notch.

I actually like the beardless hound with the army looking helmet more than the one they went with.

I'm wondering what the explanation is for the sudden human-like faces on these TFs?

Yeah dont get the beard thing, the designs in revenge of the fallen really pissed me off though - Old man with a cane, Urban twins and Big Balls.

Feel sorry for the people that had to go in to work everyday and render those things.

@sameoldthing

Facial hair on TFs had been present since G1. Granted Bayformers sort of overdid it with that on the robots, but I don't really mind. What mattered to me more is the fact that the Bots looked more human and the Cons looked insect-like in the first three films.

What happened to my comment? Like I said, what redesign? It still looks like junk and you can't redesign junk. Except for the samurai. He actually looks good.

I don't even know what to think of this movie, when I heard about Galvatron I was pissed but the end result was good, I didn't like the fact that all the previous autobots except Bee were dead they could have left a couple more from the last film it was just a little hard to invest in characters that just popped out of know where but acted like we've seen them before. As for the Dinobots -_-, I'm probably not gonna watch this again for a long time.

SUCKER RAN LONG DIDN'T IT? I LIKE THE MORE ROUNDED DESIGNS, I AGREE THEY SHOULDVE KEPT OLD CHARACTERS INSTEAD OF KILLING THEM OFF..MY THING IS WHY DESIGN THEM TO LOOK LIKE EARTH STUFF LIKE THE SAMURAI OR THE TRENCHCOAT OR WHAT..THEY'RE ALIENS WITH THEIR OWN PLANET THEIR OWN CULTURE, THEY ONLY APPEAR LIKE CARS TRUCKS PLANES WHATEVER TO HIDE.

This movie was truly amazing watched it yesterday!! The action was amazing, the characters were fresh and interesting, lockdown was a great bounty hunter! Also the new breed of transformers were fresh and the final fight was the greatest thing I've seen on film in a long time! And them Dinobots just wow. The looked fantastic in action and they brought a real exciting presence to the end! I wish marvel films were as long as this movie

It would have been better if they focused more on Lockdown and the Dinobots. Humans creating Transformers is a nice idea but the presentation was lacking. Would've been better if their transforming would've looked more blocky instead of so smooth, looked kinda stupid.

Lockdown was an interesting villain i.e. being a Bounty Hunter but all he talked about was who sent him and hinting at the creators which was only a set up for the fifth film…

I don't know, Bays an idiot.

The beard the cartoons gave was still stylized to the animation. The beard they gave hound, who did not have one in the show, looked like someone strung a bunch of resistors together into a string and hung them from his face. They could have done a better job with less, or designed a better beard.

Yes I am a Bay Hater. Between his Transblenders series and his Teenage human ninja turtles, he cannot design for shit. Yes they are entertaining, and yes they are action packed. but just like other move remakes or comic books, cartoons and games, it is inaccurate, and kills the original story line. I would rather see more G1-ish transformers with a more detailed G1 like background, than this stuff that looks like we shoved toys in a blender and call them stylish, and remove 2/3 of the original fan favorites. Hell, in the original, Bay could have even started out with the Bug and had Bumblebee convert later in the move to the Camaro. That would have made more sense.

Exactly, the cartoon autobots had what looked to be real hair. Hair for humans is just dead cells, and the movie version is what looks like old dead wire; so i think it was a nice touch.

Mock robot facial hair made from wiring. Robots with actual hair on their faces.

Bay wins this one.

I am not one of those people that are so distraught that they don't look exactly look the G1 designs. Lockdown was cool, Hound was I guess? A lot of metal just swinging and moving. With that said, the design team, Michael Bay or whoever was pitching these designs are lazy or hasn't been on the internet to read ALL criticisms about prior designs.

Stop with all these generic stereotypes, seriously. Drift can easily be hinted at as Samurai without all the over-the-top Samurai stylings he had. Keep Ken WantawannaWhateverHisNAme is as the voice actor, keep all the swords, and his personality. Also, you pick the German-made Bugatti Veyron as the vehicle? If you wanted to go all out for this stereotype, why not have him as the Nissan GTR? Makes a lot more sense. And I love it, they finally decided they're going to commit to this notion of the Deceptions not having personalities, every single one looks alike/they are all the same and they achieved that with this film... I mean, Michael Bay movie.
