Amazon has released a new poster for its upcoming The Boys spin-off, Gen V, which sees an incoming class of new heroes enroll at the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, which is run by Vought International.

The 8-episode first season is set to premiere on September 29 on Prime Video.

The series is based on the We Gotta Go Now arc from the original graphic novel series by Garth Ennis and  Darick Robertson, which was a satirical take on the X-Men and Hunger Games.

Previously, executive producer Seth Rogen teased, "Gen V has some really crazy shit in it. The fact that they're in college, they're a little younger, makes it more shocking maybe."

The show stars Arnold Schwarzenegger's son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, who previously described the show as, "Euphoria meets superheroes."

Will you be tuning in when the spin-off debuts this September? And do you think it has a shot at becoming just as popular as The Boys? Let us know in the comment section below.

From the world of ‘The Boys’ comes ‘Gen V,’ which explores the training of the first generation of superheroes to know about Compound V, and that their powers were injected into them, rather than God-given. These young, competitive heroes put their physical and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s highly coveted top ranking. They quickly come to learn that ambition comes with sacrifice, and the difference between right and wrong is not as clear as they once believed. When the university’s dark secrets come to light, the students must come to grips with what type of heroes they are going to become..

Starring Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, Marco Pigossi, Clancy Brown, Alexander Calvert and Jason Ritter. Also featuring guest appearances from Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and P.J. Byrne reprising their roles from The Boys.

Anyone who read the comics know if Gen V is a real spin off or is this an original story made by Sony/Amazon?

@mastakilla39 - "The series is based on the We Gotta Go Now arc from the original graphic novel series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, which was a satirical take on the X-Men and Hunger Games."

@mastakilla39 - Kind of a trick question. The show itself is pretty much an original story. I'm assuming this one is loosely based on the X-Men arc from books.

@Reeds2Much - That too. They don't really follow the comic any more.

@mastakilla39 - Its basically both. They are pulling from "We Gotta Go Now" arc in the comics but also making their own story entirely.

@mastakilla39 - At this point I'll say this is orignal story. Main series The boys is no longer following comic storyline.

@harryba11zack - Same. Don't even have enough interest in main series to watch it let alone these spin-off.

Hey, homelander would never touch those kids. That's anti vought propaganda. Homelander is a kind humble soul who just wants to protect Americans and be a dad. In fact the only person he ever harmed was that violent protester who tried to harm his son.

At best homelander would have a stern talking to to these kids and have them fix the statue during community service.
