THE BOYS: Butcher Levels The Playing Field & Soldier Boy Unleashes His Power In Gory New Season 3 Trailer

Following last month's red band teaser, Prime Video has finally debuted a full trailer for the upcoming third season of The Boys, and while it's not quite as violent, there's still plenty of blood 'n guts on display!

This sneak peek also gives us a much better idea of what to expect from the season, as the now completely unstable Homelander decides to show the world who he really is... and his supporters are perfectly fine with it! Meanwhile, the now "reformed" Billy Butcher is drawn back into the fray when Queen Maeve offers him the chance to take his nemesis out for good by injecting some Compound V and "suping-up" for 24 hours.

Mother's Milk warns him against it, but the team is going to need any advantage they can find when Soldier Boy arrives on the scene and unleashes what appear to be nuke-level powers.

Check out the trailer below along with a trio of new posters.

Season 2 of The Boys ended with the death of Butcher's wife and the apparent disbanding of the team. We know they will reunite, however, most likely in attempt to bring down the increasingly psychotic Homelander. Queen Maeve was able to blackmail her rage-fuelled leader into backing off in the finale, but actor Anthony Starr has already confirmed that he will really let loose in Season 3.

It's also been confirmed that the highly controversial Herogasm comic book arc will be adapted, and showrunner Eric Kripke has hinted that the episode will be every bit as depraved as the comic.

Season 3 of The Boys is set to premiere on June 3.

Well now if Homelander dies it’ll just be like well yeah of course, he got drunk or something that time and thought his name was Ezra Heard

All the way in. I hope they drop it all at once though. The weekly wait actually hurt season 2 I think.

@UnderBelly - I think weekly kept it alive. Check out The Boys subreddit when it comes out and you'll get all kinds of memes and discussion on the new episode instead of just the conclusion.

Anyway, I believe it'll be the first 2 or 3 episodes then weekly after.

@UnderBelly - even just one a day would be nice, or two a week

@Cap1 - 3 Friday 3 Saturday and 3 on the Sunday would be cool. If its a 9 ep season.

@Evansly - I disagree. While I still think it was a good season, having the breaks in between showed up the flaws more. If that's how they wanted to do it, they should have done so right from the beginning.

@UnderBelly - yeah that’d be cool, make it feel like more of an event if they done that. Outer Range on Prime done 2 every Friday which that was great. Think they’ll stick with weekly tho sadly

@UnderBelly - I can understand that point of view. I think the all at once model was once great but now shows escape word of mouth too quickly. I think weekly releases helps keep that up. Plus I'm busy ha

@Evansly - Yeah, plus they want to keep subscribers paying beyond their 1 week free trials 🤣.

I hear you with the being busy thing.. it's so hard when everything is out there and you have to try and avoid all spoilers online... definitely hurt my viewing experience for a few series this year.

@BoosterBronze - Honestly, the way they wrapped up the comics wasn’t awful. The overall concept was solid, but they didn’t spend enough time building towards the resolve. Just like Daenerys in Game of Thrones, it’s obvious they were always destined to be a villain. However, they rushed their transition making their motivations feel disjointed and hollow.

Already looks way better than Season 2, but that's not saying too much.
