Amazon Prime finally announced an official premiere date for season 3 of The Boys yesterday (we're still waiting on that first trailer), and a couple of new images have now been shared on Twitter.

The first gives us another looks at Supernatural alum Jensen Ackles as the world's first "supe," Soldier Boy. Though the character does appear in the comic books, this take on Soldier Boy is expected to be quite a bit different. He will still be the leader of the group known as Payback, but here they'll be active in the 1940s during World War II. It's not clear if the patriotic supe will also show up in present day, but it does seem likely.

Ackles joins fellow new faces Laurie Holden as the Crimson Countess, Nick Wechsler as Blue Hawk, Sean Patrick Flannery as Gunpowder, and Miles Gaston Villanueva as Supersonic.

Jack Quaid also shared a new shot of Hughie and Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) striking a pose.

Season 2 of The Boys ended with the death of Butcher's wife and the apparent disbanding of the team. We know they will reunite, however, most likely in attempt to bring down the increasingly psychotic Homelander. Queen Maeve was able to blackmail her rage-fuelled leader into backing off in the finale, but actor Anthony Starr has already confirmed that he will really let loose in Season 3.

It's also been confirmed that the highly controversial Herogasm comic book arc will be adapted, and showrunner Eric Kripke has hinted that the episode will be every bit as depraved as the comic.

The Boys returns for its third season on June 3.

Please make Jensen the CW Batman. Get rid of Batwoman and do a really good Batman show. Then maybe we can get an awesome small screen Justice League. Build it up like the 90’s animated series.

Jensen is getting older, idk if I want him as a Superhero per say anymore. THIS is fine, actually perfect, but idk about a Marvel or DC role.

Honestly, I have a dream Mini Series I've imagined for about a decade. It's called QUEST and it's an update on the Jonny Quest IP in modern times, with an adult Jonny Quest who's had a falling out with his family and left, and years later has to come back.

When he left, Hadji stepped up and took over for Jonny, but never quite measured up in the adventuring department despite his gifted mind and ample abilities. Over years of falling short without Jonny, Hadji becomes resentful and depressed. Dr. Quest becomes consumed by his work, and Race becomes jaded and violent. The team falls apart without Jonny, and Jonny isn't doing to hot either as an adult, doing a lot of day drinking and living in the past, idolized the 80's and the era he was a kid and missed out on being a kid, so now he's mentality stuck in that era.

Then some mystery forces him to go back home.

Jensen Ackles as Jonny Quest

Kal Penn as Hadji

Jensen and Kal are both 43 I believe, and Jonny and Hadji are the same age, plus I imagine these two having AMAZING chemistry.

John Glover as Dr. Benton Quest

Stephen Lang as Race Bannon

I think Jack Quaid would have made a great Barry Allan/Flash, I can even see him being a good Green Lantern too.

Ackles looks like a completely different person with a beard. Not in a bad way, but it takes me a second for it to click that that picture of Soldier Boy is Jensen Ackles.

Pretty sure they're not going either WW2 or Herogasm Soldier Boy, but I can't imagine he's getting out of the season without being wrecked in some way.
