Filming is currently underway on the fourth season of The Boys, and some revealing photos from the Toronto set have been shared online.

We recently got an official look at Orange Is the New Black‘s Susan Heyward and The Following actress Valorie Curry as new Supes Sister Sage and Firecracker, respectively, and both characters can be seen here attending some sort of rally along with Homelander and other members of The Seven.

This would seem to confirm that, like most other Supes, these two are not going to be particularly heroic.

Spoilers ahead!

Interestingly, the photos also reveal the return of Black Noir, who was killed by Homelander in the season 3 finale. Showrunner Eric Kripke has already confirmed that Noir is definitely dead, so we have to assume this is someone else in the suit.

Season 4 plot details are a mystery for now, but we do know that The Walking Dead alum Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be joining the fray in an undisclosed role. We also learned that Cameron Crovertti (Ryan) has been upped to series regular, which is hardly surprising after the sinister final shot of season 3.

During a recent interview with Collider, Kripke confirmed that Ryan will be focal point of the fourth season.

"Moving forward, Ryan is a really important part of it. Both Butcher and Homelander have very good reasons to fight over Ryan because the stakes could not be higher. If Ryan goes Homelander's way and then there are two Homelanders in the world, then that's a nightmare for the planet. If Butcher can get Ryan into the light, then that's probably actually the best weapon they have against Homelander. It's always been a show about family, and so much of Season 3 was about fathers, so I think it makes sense that Season 4 is about sons."

Ryan already seems to have chosen "Homelander's way," but that doesn't mean he's beyond saving. Butcher made a major mistake by pushing the easily-influenced youngster away in the false belief that he'd be safer without such a fatalistic father figure in his life, but this completely backfired when Victoria Neuman gave Homelander his son's location.

@LilJimmy - I wonder if this is how they introduce the "Black Noir is a Homelander clone failsafe" storyline.

Maybe it’s the Homelander clone. Vought could still have a Black Noir and total control over him if he’s the clone.

@WruceBayne - that’s what I was thinking

I’m sure she’ll manipulate the hell out of Homelander somehow

@GhostDog - Probably. Seems to be the theme of every season.

@BackwardGalaxy - Blacker Noir. Black Noirer.

The more "original" characters they bring in, the more I think they're losing steam. Last season could be the beginning of a decline.

@Nightmare - How? the comic book was terrible, the more original stuff they bring, the better.

I wonder what are the plans they have for this Noir clone. The showrunner will try to maybe mix things.

Is it true this is Karl Urban's final season??

@itzayaboy - The character has a few months to live, so it would make sense...
I think the series in general shouldnt last more than 5 seasons, though.

@TheHumanSpider2 - 5 seasons? It makes zero sense for them to do an entire season without Butcher. His death is pretty much the end of the boys. When he dies, so should the show.

@Typhoon20 - I agree, but two seasons can take place in the span of a few months.
My point was that this show shouldnt last more than 5 seasons, with or without Butcher.
Rosraf

@TheHumanSpider2 - Agreed. Go out strong. Film last two seasons at once and release them 6 months apart. But that won't happen. The show is too valuable to Amazon. Especially with Rings of Power's disappointing numbers.
