The legendary Clancy Brown has become one of the most prolific actors working today, and has dipped his toe in pretty much every franchise you can think of over the years. Now, he looks set to make The Boys universe his next port of call.
According to One Take News, Brown has signed in for a role in Prime Video's upcoming spin-off, Gen V. We don't have any details on his character, but he is expected to feature in "at least one episode, with the possibility to appear in more."
Pure speculation here, but we'd say there's a decent chance Brown will play one of the college's teachers/staff members.
Brown will probably be best known as the monstrous Kurgann in the original Highlander, as well as the voice of Lex Luthor in Justice League Unlimited and several other animated DC shows. He also voiced Surtur in Thor: Ragnarok, and, of course, Mr. Krabs in SpongeBob SquarePants.
“Gen V is set at America’s only college exclusively for superheroes, run by Vought International," reads the show's synopsis. “Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.”
Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters serve as showrunners and executive producers of Gen V. Executive producers include Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Craig Rosenberg, Zak Schwartz, Erica Rosbe and Michaela Starr. Brant Engelstein is on board as co-executive producer.
Gen V stars Jaz Sinclair, Shelley Conn, Lizzie Broadway, Chance Perdomo, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas and Marco Pigossi.
The Boys has been renewed for a fourth season (you can check out our season 3 review here).
