Deadline is reporting that Glen Mazzara - who has been executive producer of AMC's successful series,
The Walking Dead - has now been chosen to be the new showrunner of the series, after creator/producer Frank Darabont recently resigned the position. Below is what they have to say...
The Walking Dead executive producer Glen Mazzara is taking the reins of AMC's The Walking Dead following the exit of creator/executive producer/showrunner Frank Darabont. According to sources close to the hit zombie drama, Mazzara, who joined the show at the beginning of Season 2 as No.2 to Darabont, will now indeed be the series' new showrunner.
Deadline goes on to say that the sudden change of showrunners has not affected the production of the second season at all, while also saying that it's unknown whether or not Darabont will still be involved in the series or out of it all together.
