Last season during
The Walking Dead brought about some big changes. Major characters were killed off through out the season, none bigger than Shane. Series regular Norman Reedus talked with
THR about Daryl feeling the pressure of filling the void left behind by Shane as the groups top guardians.
"With the turn of how things are going with the apocalypse, he's opening himself up to people and being respected in other ways and finding reasons to fight for certain people and be apart of a group. It's a big deal for him. With Shane being gone, there's more responsibilities, but Daryl doesn't want the responsibility of taking over a group, he's just trying to fit in," he said. Meanwhile series new comer Lauren Cohan said her character Maggie is adjusting to killing Walkers. As you may recall her father, Hershel, was corralling Walkers in his barn because they believed they were sick and would eventually be cured. Said Cohan,
"What's exciting for Maggie now is she's still trying to find a sense of joy in what they're doing and joy in the victory of finding a safe-hold or in taking out some walkers." She also went on to say the group encounters more Walkers than ever before. Check out some new photos from the upcoming season below.
The Walking Dead is set to return on October 14 and stars Andrew Lincon, Sarah Wayne Callies, Chandler Riggs, Norman Reedus, Lori Holden, Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan, Iron E Singleton, Danai Gurira, and David Morrissey.
