AMC has just announced that the season 10 finale of The Walking Dead will not air as planned.
Similar to Batwoman, Supergirl, and Supernatural, post-production cannot be completed because of the coronavirus pandemic which is causing havoc across the entire globe. "Current events have unfortunately made it impossible to complete post-production of The Walking Dead Season 10 finale, so the current season will end with its 15th episode on April 5," the network said today.
Pre-production on season 11 of The Walking Dead has already been postponed, and the finale is now expected to air as a special episode later this year at a currently undisclosed date.
To make it up to fans, AMC is offering the first eight episodes of season 10 for free on AMC.com and the AMC app from April 5th through May 1st. Fear The Walking Dead has also been hit with delays thanks to COVID-19, and we learned on Friday that the horror-drama's next spinoff, The Walking Dead: Beyond World, has also been pushed further into 2020.
The Walking Dead is no longer at its best, but it has its fair share of fans, so this will come as a blow to many. We just have to hope that the penultimate chapter isn't too huge a cliffhanger!
