It was announced at Comic-Con today that Fear The Walking Dead will premiere on AMC on August 23rd. The companion series is a prequel dealing with the zombie outbreak, and this first trailer does a great job of setting the tone. Will it live up to the series it's based on? That remains to be seen. Once again, we'll update this post with a region-free version of the trailer the second it becomes available. What do you think about this first look at Fear The Walking Dead? Sound off below!

Pile of burning trash. Everything beyond Season 1 of the Walking Dead is garbage and everyone involved should get herpes.

This looks better than I thought it would be. If they want to survive they need to find the fastest path out of the city. Getting to places like the country would be the best, less people and more open lines of view. The best case scenario would be finding a way to islands like the one Alcatraz is at and building walls around the island. This way you have water all around you, plus you can see when alive humans try to sneak up and kill you. Building cities like castles would also make it harder for the zombies and humans to breach.

Looks okay! I'm still not up to date with the regular TWD though.

@BlackIceJoe

Nah, not the country.. Makes the dynamic of the show a complete retelling of TWD.. The parallel perspectives are really quite unique.. I think this show could be better.. But nothing beats the comics.. Maybe the game... As in taletell one..

I agree with you that going to the country would make it look and feel more like TWD. I though was talking more about a real zombie outbreak, staying in the city would just be a stupid move. Less people close to you increases your chances to live. Going back and reading my comment I can see it was a little confusing, sorry about that.

I still can't believe they actually thought FTWD was a good show title, but this looks better than I was expecting. I haven't watched TWD regularly since season 2, but I might check this out.
