The website trueblood-online has debunked two rumors that were reported yesterday that Rutina Wesley was playing fan-favorite Michonne, and that she would be in Prometheus.

Yesterday Hollywood Hills reported a rumor that the sword wielding bad-ass Michonne would be played by True Blood's Rutina Wesley. She is best known for her role as Tara in the HBO Vampire show. The rumor originally started on a Walking Dead fan site and took on a life of it's own. While the Prometheus rumor was started by IMDB and that was also snuffed out by trueblood-online.com.

I didn't even realize she played Kendra until you mentioned Buffy. She's not black enough for what I always imagined Michonne, but I wouldn't complain if they cast her.

I've not seen Rutina in a role outside of True Blood, so I can't say if my dislike is for the character or the actress, but Tara sure as hell is a stupid, ghetto stereotype. She's nothing but loud and abrasive. She may not be a bitch, but she sure as Hell is whiny. I'm happy with how the last season ended.

Good news. I hear she got shot in the face in the finale for True Blood and I was happy. I then felt bad, but I hate her character on that show and damnit, I refuse to give her a chance to make me hate Michonne.

Sorry man, but we're going to have to agree to disagree here. I don't see her as terribly smart, she lets her emotions get the better of her far too much. The specific moment when I went, "Yeah, you're an idiot" towards her was when she ran off to save Eggs knowing full well she'd just get mind controlled again.
