ARROW Actress Katie Cassidy Details Her Impending Return As Black Siren In This New Featurette

After a controversial exit two seasons ago, Katie Cassidy is back on Arrow - as a main cast member, no less - but this time, she'll have a very different agenda. Check out this new featurette now!

If you were seeking some sort of redemption arc for Black Siren (Katie Cassidy), it doesn't sound like it'll be happening anytime soon as the Earth-2 Laurel Lance doppelgänger will be in full villain mode when the season kicks off next week, carrying out her plan to break into the Arrowcave and finding herself in a showdown with the new Black Canary (Juliana Harkavy).

The CW has released a new featurette, which unfortunately contains no new season five footage, but does give us a new interview with Cassidy as she details Laurel's new mindset coming into the season.

Check it out below:

"Fallout" - (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LV) (HDTV)

THE AFTERMATH - Oliver (Stephen Amell) deals with the fallout of the explosion on the island. James Bamford directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim & Wendy Mericle (#601). Original airdate 10/12/2017.

As the Green Arrow, Oliver Queen protects his home, Star City, with the help of former soldier John Diggle, computer-science expert Felicity Smoak, his Thea Queen, Deputy Mayor Quentin Lance, brilliant inventor Curtis Holt, and his new recruits, street-savvy Rene Ramirez and meta-human Dinah Drake. In Season Six, Oliver has finally solidified and strengthened his crime-fighting team only to have it threatened when unexpected enemies from his past , including Black Siren, return to Star City, forcing Oliver to rethink his relationship with each member of his “family.” With the team left hanging in the balance, the focus shifts to the fates of every member of Team Arrow!

Arrow features:
Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow
Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance/Black Siren
David Ramsey as John Diggle/Spartan
Willa Holland as Thea Queen/Speedy
Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak

Imagine if they did to Lois Lane or Iris West on a show what theve done to Black Canary on this show. I mean they never even got her name right let alone anything else, the Justice League Dinah Lance and her relationship to Oliver was perfect

@Ha1frican - That's a very VERY VERY good point. The treatment of Dinah "Laurel" Lance is the biggest travesty in the Arrowverse.

They should have done right by her character the first time.

I'm actually returning to the show this season now that Katie is back, still frustrating what the writer's did to her character and I hope the give her some meat to work with this time around.

I really wish they'd kill off Dinah and rehab this Laurel into the real Black Canary.

I really want to come back into the Arrow fold, but it just bums me out every time Katie is on screen. SUCH A FREAKIN WASTE. Should never have killed Laurel it was such a very dumb decision.

I know Arrow improved last season, but what the writers did to the ICONIC Black Canary character for [frick]ing Felicity is a damn SHAME.

Remember back in the Smallville days when a particular sect of the fandom really really REALLY wanted Clark to end up with Chole and the Showrunner were like "No, that's not the story of Clark Kent"

If the Arrow crew were on that show, Clark would have ended up with Chole over Lana and Lois.

[frick] Arrow for disrespecting the GREAT Black Canary character. An icon of women and comics and a DC Staple all for the sake of....olicity.

Absolute crime what they've done to the Black Canary on Arrow.
