ARROW: Episode Focusing On Felicity's Background No Longer Titled "Oracle"

The crowd at this year's San Diego Comic-Con went wild when it was revealed that the episode dealing with Felicity's back story would be titled "Oracle", with many speculating that it could mean we'd get to meet Barbara Gordon. Well, the episode has a new title, and you can find it here...

It was always unlikely, but the fact that an upcoming episode of Arrow would be called "Oracle" did make it seem as if we could see a young Barbara Gordon make some sort of cameo appearance (especially as it will reportedly deal with Felicity's time at MIT). Well, forget that Birds of Prey spin-off for the time being as Entertainment Weekly have revealed that it has now been retitiled, "The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak." The episode will still see the introduction of Felicity's mother - played by NYPD Blue's Charlotte Ross - and some hints about the fan favourite characters father too. "We’ve established in the past that mom is a cocktail waitress in Vegas," executive producer Marc Guggenheim told the site. "She and Felicity are two very different people. Episode 5, which is when Felicity’s mom comes to town, really deals with the differences between these two women and how much of their relationship is a struggle as a result. It’s a real challenge for these two people to find some common ground." As for Felicity’s father, he added: "The mystery of who Felicity’s dad is probably gets extended more than it gets answered." Any early thoughts on who which comic book character her father could be? The title was probably changed after people assumed Zatanna would show up in the Magician episode. They don't want people thinking Batgirl will show up and the title is kind of misleading for DC fans.

I don't see the point in the title change, or why its soon damn long. "Felcity's origin" would have worked just fine.

They have to replace that 'mom' element that was lost last season. It'll balance out the show again. Green Arrow missing his mom and their problems will just switch over to Felicity and her mom problems.

I've never seen an episode of Breaking Bad or The Walking Dead. Both those shows look horrible to me.

Ooooooh.....that's what I thought too. Especially Breaking Bad. Avoided it for a long time.

The Walking Dead I saw from the beginning because it came out on Halloween and it was something to watch while passing out candy while visiting family.

don waste your time on walking dead... its [frick]ing awful and the most overrated show ever. i cannot believe how much people love it. maybe cause i hate the zombie genre. the only zombie movies i liekd were zombieland and shaun of the dead.

give BB a shot though. just one season to see if you like it. it gets better and better but if you dont like the first season theres no point continuing.

For those who haven't seen Breaking Bad. It is worth your time, effort, and money to watch that show. Breaking Bad is up there with Sopranos in my book .
