ARROW: Oliver Queen Gets A Hero's Welcome In New Photos From Season 7, Episode 8: "Unmasked"

With Oliver Queen finally out of prison, it looks like Team Arrow's going to spend at least some of next week's episode celebrating their leader's freedom. Meanwhile, Felicity continues on her darker path.

Ever since Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) got himself locked up, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) has been making a number of questionable decisions in his absence and now, with him finally out, it looks like things may quickly begin to unravel for her as Oliver quickly comes to realize that everything Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) was telling him may have more truth to it than he'd like to believe.

While speaking with TV Line, Amell acknowledges an adjustment period, but also admits their conflict will have a relatively quick resolution. "We do work it out pretty quickly. We come to an understanding that nothing’s ever going to be perfect. … Nothing’s ever going to be perfect or normal about our relationship, and I think that the sooner that the two of them accept that, the sooner that they can move on with their lives.”

With Felicity getting darker, he also teases that Oliver will be taking a slightly lighter, more mature, turn after his horrific prison experience. “I wanted a change in him in the way that he interacts with people, with the public, and even so far as his wardrobe. I went to [costume designer] Maya [Mani], and I’m like, ‘Oliver’s in his mid-30s, he’s a former politician. I want him to dress a little bit more like he used to dress for Sunday brunch at the Queen mansion.’ WASPy’s the wrong word, but it’s not totally the wrong word. … In the first episode that I’m out, we had him going to a gala, and I was in sort of the same suit that I would wear as the mayor. I didn’t like that. So we pushed that in a different direction.

That last episode was probably the best episode of Arrow in several seasons. I'm very pleased Arrow had the balls to really go all in on the Supermax story arc this season and didnt just have him out after a few episodes. I feel like they explored just about all they could with that storyline without it getting too boring or drawn out. This has been the first season of Arrow in a while I'm actually invested in. The past few seasons have been really good for the most part but this season especially has been very well paced and executed.

Seems Oliver really will be going unmasked now. Like with everything and if it is going to stick it'll take me a while to get used to it.

So, Oliver has already shed the canon beard and gone back to the stubble look? Really? For Christ's sake! SMDH.
