Next week, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) finds himself on the wrong side of the law yet again as a mission to stop the Ninth Circle goes awry and leaves him as the primary suspect in a series of murders.

Fortunately, Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) is on the case, but it's really not looking good for the Emerald Archer. Meanwhile, present day Roy (Colton Haynes) joins the team, which means we may be getting an update on what Thea (Willa Holland) has been up to these past few years.

"Confessions" - (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, V) (HDTV)

ARSENAL RETURNS TO HELP THE TEAM - When they learn of an upcoming attack on the city, Team Arrow calls Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) to help them stop the Ninth Circle. However, things go awry and there is massive collateral damage. As Captain of the SCPD, Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) investigates what happened in an episode that takes on a true crime narrative and tone. Tara Miele directed the episode written by Onalee Hunter Hughes & Emilio Ortega Aldrich (#720). Original airdate 4/29/2019.

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. The prison arc this season was some of the best writing in arrow as a whole, but the season has lacked focus in the second half, its been good in chunks, but as a whole its lacking, hopefully the final season's arc is as strong as the prison arc

So ..

Diggle as Green Lantern all but confirmed or what?

With his Step father having the last name Stewart and the two making up for lost time .. what's to stop John from taking on the last name Stewart and becoming a GL?

It's what most of us have assumed/wanted for a long long time now. It'd be really cool if that's how Arrow ends .. leaving the door open to him being GL over on the DC streaming service or something

I'd love to see it.

Its possible Diggle becomes a Green Lantern or more likely, we meet an alternate Universe John Stewart
during the Crisis, who knew the truth about his real father and chose to adopt his stepfather's name and a Marine Corps career before being selected as a Green Lantern.

Pretty good episode; started out only solid/good (thought the opening Diggle/Oliver fight was sweet), but after the first 10 to 15 minutes the episode became good and then progressed into pretty good territory. And as always with this show, a lot to unpack from the episode.

First, really liked Ernie Hudson on as General Stewart. He did a good job and I would really enjoy seeing more of him. And I liked the relationship between him and Diggle and how it shifted as the episode progressed; their final conversation was very heartfelt. Also, we can now confirm that Diggle is John Diggle Stewart!!!

The Felicity stuff was the weakest part of the episode but still good. Her decision to destroy Archer was handled well. This pretty much sets up the future storyline with Archer, its clear that Alena is going to re-develop Archer.

The Oliver/Emiko/Team Arrow/Ninth Circle stuff was really good and we got some really nice fight scenes, some sweet choreography so kudos to the stunt team and the actors tonight (especially Amell and Shimooka). Also, when the DIA crashed through the ceiling and took out the Ninth Circle members, damn that was freaking awesome!

Shame to see Dante go, I really liked him.

Finally, the flash forwards: wow, so John Diggle Jr is still alive and kicking and has aligned himself with the Deathstroke gang. Enjoyed the Mia/Conner time. Seems like the stage has been set for a massive finale in the future with all those Archer enhanced soldiers; should be great.

Also, lol I have an orange external hard drive exactly like the one in the show tonight. Specifically, its a LaCie hard drive.

@HeavyMetal4Life -

Great Episode. It also provided a logical explanation of why John Diggle (and his brother)
were career Army and not Marines as John Stewart is in the comics.

Military service is in Diggle's blood but being a Marine reminded him of his resentment of his
stepfather and John's belief that he failed the number one belief of the Corps that you leave no
man behind. Since his stepdad was at one time the Commandant of The Marine Corps, every
Marine would know he was the stepson of a hero who he happened to despise.

Joining the Army under his father's name was a way for Diggle to answer the call to service
while giving a not so subtle F-U to the man he blamed for his father's death.

Very well done.

Not trying to be a smart ass but Diggle is not a maiden name. Men don't tack on another family
surname after there own. It's John (whatever middle name) Diggle Or John (whatever middle name
he was born with Stewart)

It is a pretty safe bet that on Earth-90, John's stepfather told him the truth about his real father and
John chooses to take on the last name of his father as well as follow him into the Marine Corps.
