ARROW Season 4, Episode 9 Description; "Dark Waters" - 'Damien Darhk' Strikes

There was no new promo for Arrow's eighth episode tonight, but we do have the description for the one that's going to follow it! It sounds like things will really be reaching a head in this one as Team Arrow gears up and takes on HIVE, but can they survive Damien Darhk? Check it out...

OLIVER TAKES ON HIVE — After the city is attacked again, Oliver (Stephen Amell) makes a bold move against HIVE.  Malcolm (John Barrowman) checks in on Thea (Willa Holland) andleaves  her  with a  warning.   Things  take  a  horrible  turn  when Damien Darhk (guest  star  Neal McDonough) retaliates in a brutal manner at Oliver’s mayoral holiday party.  John Behring directed the episode written by Wendy Mericle & Ben Sokolowski.

This sounds like a solid episode of Arrow (even if the description is rather vague!). The situation with Damien Darhk is clearly going to be taken to the next level following the show's crossover event with The Flash. What do you think is going to happen when Team Arrow clashes with HIVE?

Tonight's episode thankfully started to pick up in the progression department, the past episodes have been such a slowwwwwwww burn, and tonight's action was pretty good stuff. I only wish that we got more between Damian and Oliver, Oliver and Diggle, and Laurel and Diggle.

Also, I feel like Oliver being mayor isn't as grand as it could be. I feel like it's a missed opportunity not to have Oliver become "Ollie", a more politically outspoken man against the corruption that's happening in the city.

@Nomis

Im thinking that power Darhk uses drains life force but when he used it on Thea her Life Force was tainted by the Pit causing a reverse effect. #LifeForceSpeculationTheory #TheForceIsEverywhere

Hey...did they really mention Diggle's brother had a son before this season??? If so, I don't know how I missed something that important.

@BlackStar25 unless it was brought up mid- to end- of season 3, no, it was never mentioned. I've yet to finish the third season. Should I take the plunge? Cuz i was pissed when he didn't come back because of the pit and instead came back because of "sheer will and magic asian herbs"

@GoogleWasMyIdea

It wasn't mentioned in Season 3 for sure. Should you continue Season 3? Hmmmm....I don't know. To me personally that season plunged after that mid-season Ra's Vs. Oliver Fight. Its a decision you'll have to make bruv.

solid episode, not sure why HIVE would need an entire city as a homebase tho.

I believe it was in Season 1 when he and Carly started to get close.

Finally a name for Oliver's island lady. Hopefully we will get a trailer for Legends of Tomorrow after Arrow's ninth episode airs and the show goes on hiatus.

Tonight's entire episode was directed by the show's stunt/fight choreographer. When I saw his name at the beginning, I knew to get excited for awesome fight scenes, and the man delivered :)

I'm hoping Malcolm's quip about the wise old "sage" in the mountains is true. Vic Sage might know the cure to Thea's bloodlust.

All of these speeches about operating in the light... Does anyone else think we're close to the unmasking?

Always love me some long shot fight scenes,

I really liked Atom's fighting style this episode as well.

I was wondering how the hell they were gonna stop Darkh, but I guess Thea will be the Achilles heel

one of the best episodes this season

it definitely had the best action scenes for this season thus far. the camera angles really brought it out!

I think it's going to be Captain Lance in the grave.

?@rabid I'm not sure Barry would show up for Lance's funeral. Have they ever met? I still would like it if it was Laurel.

rabid - 11/19/2015, 1:49 PM
@tugboy
You're right. Barry wouldn't go to Quinton's funeral. It has to be Felicity. She has to be bumped off anyway to make room for the Ollie/Laurel love affair. We're all dreading it, but it's just necessary to the mythology.
tugboy
tugboy - 11/19/2015, 2:01 PM
@rabid I think the best scenario would be if it is Andrew Diggle's funeral...AGAIN!
Supafairy
Supafairy - 11/19/2015, 8:16 PM
@KryptoKNIGHT I think the point was that Diggle didn't care if they take on the ghosts knowing that one of them could be Andy. He hates his brother. That's why they didn't go that route, and when they did go in to extract Andy, they went in prepared with the necessary tech.

Also, I think Thea had a sword because she wasn't being overcome with bloodlust so maybe they assumed it was safe. To be fair the return of her bloodlust surprised her too tonight. She managed to control it in the beginning but perhaps the annoying a-hole in the bar finally flipped her out... Can't blame the girl...
Supafairy
Supafairy - 11/19/2015, 8:33 PM
So here's my theory, it may be a stretch but I really want this to happen because I LOVE Felicity and I want her to have an brilliant arc:

What if the rumor that Felicity is Darkh's daughter is true? Darkh finds this out, he also finds out that Ollie is Green Arrow and dating his daughter...So...he uses Felicity as a means to get back at Green Arrow by killing the love of his life and breaking him... BUT Felicity isn't really dead, Darhk used his mystical powers to disguise a corps as Felicity and he drugs Felicity and mind-controls her like he does with the Ghosts...Damian Darkh probably gets defeated but...in a later Season, we find out that HIVE is back and Felicity is their Queen Bee (the earth version obviously), she's crossed the dark-side Andy style and now uses her tech skills (instead of mysticism) to control the Ghosts.

This opens up the Laurel/Ollie story arc. Felicity not being there makes way for Holt to step up as the new tech-genius member of team arrow. He also has some field skills he can use to go full-on super hero. Ray Palmer joins the team full time because Felicity's death motivates him to be more active a superhero.

Just a thought. @jollem?
