Last month it was revealed that the CW was developing a Batwoman televsion series that would spin out of her appearance on this year's upcoming Arrowverse crossover.  With Caroline Dries, Sarah Schechter, Geoff Johns, and Arrowverse architect Greg Berlanti involved, the show will see a lesbian Kate Kane battle crime in Gotham while also working through her own demons.

CW President Mark Pedowitz, speaking at the network's Television Critics Association summer press tour, confirmed that Berlanti was in the early stages of developing the series, with an aim for a 2019 premiere. Pedowitz revealed that they will film a pilot and see if the series gets picked up, though it's hard to believe that this show won't make it to air.

We'll do a pilot for mid-season, whether it goes to series, I cannot tell you. We have five [DC shows] on the air and just added a sixth night.

While Batwoman will be making her live action debut on the CW, we should not expect to see Batman anytime soon. Pedowitz did not rule out a future appearance from the caped crusader, but says they currently do not plan on having Bruce Wayne show up. He did, however, reaffirm that Batman does already exist in the Arrowverse.

Bruce Wayne and his alter ego have been teased multiple times throughout the history of the Arrowverse, the biggest of which occurred in Arrow season 6 when Oliver Queen namedrops Wayne during a press conference. Perhaps, if Batwoman is picked up and proves a success, we may get some appearances from the dark knight.

Finally, Pedowitz addressed the longevity of their DC shows. The CW is growing to 6 nights of original content a week this Fall, with Pedowitz revealing there is even potential for expanding to all 7 nights, and this bodes well for the continuation of the current DC series and the addition of more, as seen with Batwoman. Unsurprisingly, there are no plans to end any of the Arrowverse shows.

Shows do eventually end, we have no plans yet to end one or any of them. We'll see where we come out as the season goes on.

Are you excited for a Batwoman series? Be sure to share your thoughts about everything Pedowitz talked about regarding the Arrowverse.
