New Extended Promo For ARROW Season 5 Episode 2: "The Recruits"

After an all-around disappointing fourth season, The CW's Berlantiverse launching point, Arrow, returned last night for its fifth year. Come see Oliver breaking in his new class in an extended promo!

The last two seasons of Arrow, by most accounts, were severely underwhelming, with the death of Katie Cassidy's Black Canary and the fourth season finale receiving an unprecedented amount of backlash from fans. However, there's some reason to be optimistic that this season turns out differently (although, to be fair, that's what many said about last year), especially with the showrunners more or less taking Oliver back to the basics and dialing way down on the mystical side of things, which never really suited the show's MO.

Unlike its sister show, The Flash, there's only one extended trailer for next week's installment of Arrow, which introduces Oliver's new team of ragtag heroes, consisting of Mr. Terrific, Wild Dog, and Artemis. Check it out below:

SUIT UP - Oliver's (Stephen Amell) new recruits for Team Arrow are Curtis (Echo Kellum), Wild Dog (guest star Rick Gonzalez) and Evelyn Sharp (guest star Madison McLaughlin). Unfortunately, the Green Arrow's training methods prove to be too much for some of them to handle. Meanwhile, in the flashbacks, Oliver's initiation into the Bratva continues. James Bamford directed the episode written by Speed Weed & Beth Schwartz (#502).

Newly appointed Mayor Oliver Queen finds himself challenged as he fights on two fronts for the future of Star City. With Diggle back in the military and Thea adamant about hanging up her hood as Speedy, Team Green Arrow is down to just Oliver and Felicity – but they’re no longer the only vigilantes in town. Green Arrow’s public defeat of Damien Darhk at the end of Season Four has inspired a new crop of masked heroes to step up and defend the city, though their painful inexperience makes them obstacles, rather than allies, in the field. The arrival of a deadly new adversary will force Oliver to confront questions about his own legacy, both as mayor and as the Green Arrow.

Arrow features:
Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow
David Ramsey as John Diggle/Spartan
Willa Holland as Thea Queen/Speedy
Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak
Paul Blackthorne as Captain Quentin Lance
Echo Kellum as Curtis Holt/Mr. Terrific
John Barrowman as Malcolm Merlyn/Dark Archer
Colton Haynes as Roy Harper/Arsenal
Josh Segarra as Adrian Chase/Vigilante
Rick Gonzalez as Jack Wheeler/Wild Dog
Madison McLaughlin as Evelyn Sharp/Artemis
Chad L. Coleman as Tobias Church
Tyler Ritter as Detective Malone
Carly Pope as Susan Williams
David Nykl as Anatoly Knyazev
Joe Dinicol as Rory Regan
Dolph Lundgren in an undisclosed role
Wil Traval as Christopher Chance/Human Target

The episode was pretty solid.....they turned up the heat on the fighting and violence. And I really hope they get rid of Felicity....she is so annoying.

Last nights episode was great, hell even the story direction seems to be going the right way. I just hope they haven't lured us all into a sense of false security with the show.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Arrow premiere. I can tell they're really trying hard to get back on track. (I wonder if the CW stepped in to get it back on track.) In fact, I enjoyed this episode way more than The Flash.

Keep in mind that season 4 of Arrow probably had the best season premiere of the network series last year.

We know how that turned out.

Great news to hear that the Arrow season 4 episode was great. I haven't seen it yet but i'm glad it was good. Hope it can keep it up. It was my favourite show with season 1 and 2. Can't wait to catch up

Oliie did a flip to dodge Anarchy attack and still shot an arrow in mid air to hit the bomb. Greatest Archer Ever!

The fights atr bsck to tight and fast paced. Not the slow stiffness of past seasons

Felicity back to her S1 charm and nothing more. Please keep her just that.

Chad Coleman did a great job as Church and the helicopter fight scene was pure genius.

Please keep this up Arrow!!!!

As far as the previews, I hate how 20 seconds are just an add on at the end.

Arrow was awesome last night. I'm hoping for something similar for the whole season
