This year's three-episode Arrowverse crossover event is officially known as "Elseworlds."
An Elseworld story is usually a "what if" type one-off that takes place outside of regular DC continuity, such as Alex Ross’ Kingdom Come or Mark Millar’s Superman: Red Son. What the title means for the plot of this crossover remains to be seen.
For now, all we know is that Ruby Rose will debut as Batwoman along with a new take on Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch), and whatever the villainous Dr. John Deegan is up to at Arkham Asylum brings Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), The Flash (Grant Gustin) and Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) to Gotham City.
“Elseworlds” kicks-off on Sunday, Dec. 9, with The Flash. Check out a new banner below.
