WWE Once Again Teasing Viewers With Angle Featuring ARROW Star Stephen Amell
We've been keeping you updated about Stephen Amell's "feud" with WWE Superstar Stardust for a while now, and just as it was beginning to look like nothing was going to come of it, it seems to be back on (but possibly with more than just one wrestler). Hit the jump for the latest...
You may recall that Stephen Amell recently appeared in the audience of WWE Raw and had an altercation of sorts with Stardust. The two made a real impact on Twitter going back and forth, and rumours quickly sprung up that the two will square off at SummerSlam next month in an actual wrestling match with Amell in character as Green Arrow. When Cody Rhodes/Stardust's father (the great Dusty Rhodes) sadly passed away, it seemed like any plans had been put on hold, but it looks like they've now been reignited thanks once again to these guys going at it on social media.
Asked about the chances of that happening during Comic-Con, the actor said: "I’m not not gonna wrestle Stardust at SummerSlam. I know that double negatives in the English language are a no-no. I’m probably gonna do some stuff with the WWE. I don’t know if that means a wrestling match. We’ll see." Well, the Tweets below might offer up at least a vague indication of what's to come, as Amell has been called out by The Miz (whose character is basically someone who believes they're a Hollywood A-Lister) and the returning Stardust. Is something finally going to come of this?
Whether it's a guest host role or an actual wrestling match, it's clear that the WWE has something on the cards (WWE.com even have a story up about it), and with all this talk of Amell's TV alter-ego, it seems like it's going to involve Arrow in a major way. That will be great exposure for The CW series, so stay tuned to CBM for further updates on this and let us know your thoughts below.
