Following her debut in the "Elseworlds" crossover last year, Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) is back with her own series, Batwoman, and following that revelatory premiere, it looks like she's going to really have her work cut out for her this season as she works to take down the dangerous Alice (Rachel Skarsten) and the Wonderland Gang.

Next week's installment will see Kate pick up the pieces from the premiere while also recruiting Luke Fox (Camrus Johnson) to her cause. Elsewhere, Jacob Kane (Dougray Scott) and the Crows continue to work independently of Batwoman and Mary (Nicole Kang) lands in some serious hot water.

"The Rabbit Hole" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, V) (HDTV)

LEGACY - Back in Gotham, battling Alice (Rachel Skarsten) and the Wonderland Gang from the shadows, Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) continues to be haunted by the events surrounding her sister's death 15 years earlier. While the city holds on to hope that Batman has returned, Jacob Kane (Dougray Scott) and the Crows up the stakes trying to take down the villainous crew. Kate continues to look to Bruce Wayne's legacy for guidance as Luke Fox (Camrus Johnson) inadvertently gets pulled into Batwoman's vigilante heroics. Sophie (Meagan Tandy) and Kate are forced to team up, while Mary (Nicole Kang) finds herself in Alice's crosshairs. Elizabeth Anweis also stars. The episode was written by Caroline Dries and directed by Marcos Siega (#102). Original airdate 10/13/2019.

Kate Kane never planned to be Gotham's new vigilante. Three years after Batman mysteriously disappeared, Gotham is a city in despair. Without the Caped Crusader, the Gotham City Police Department was overrun and outgunned by criminal gangs. Enter Jacob Kane and his military-grade Crows Private Security, which now protects the city with omnipresent firepower and militia. Years before, Jacob's first wife and daughter were killed in the crossfire of Gotham crime. He sent his only surviving daughter, Kate Kane, away from Gotham for her safety. After a dishonorable discharge from military school and years of brutal survival training, Kate returns home when the Alice in Wonderland gang targets her father and his security firm, by kidnapping his best Crow officer Sophie Moore. Although remarried to wealthy socialite Catherine Hamilton-Kane, who bankrolls the Crows, Jacob is still struggling with the family he lost, while keeping Kate -- the daughter he still has -- at a distance. But Kate is a woman who's done asking for permission. In order to help her family and her city, she'll have to become the one thing her father loathes -- a dark knight vigilante. With the help of her compassionate stepsister, Mary, and the crafty Luke Fox, the son of Wayne Enterprises' tech guru Lucius Fox, Kate Kane continues the legacy of her missing cousin, Bruce Wayne, as Batwoman. Still holding a flame for her ex-girlfriend, Sophie, Kate uses everything in her power to combat the dark machinations of the psychotic Alice, who's always somewhere slipping between sane and insane. Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate soars through the shadowed streets of Gotham as Batwoman. But don't call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, she must first overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham's symbol of hope.

Batwoman features:
Ruby Rose as Kate Kane/Batwoman
Rachel Skarsten as Alice
Meagan Tandy as Sophie Moore
Nicole Kang as Mary Hamilton
Camrus Johnson as Luke Fox
Elizabeth Anweis as Catherine Hamilton-Kane
Dougray Scott as Jacob Kane

Batwoman returns with an all-new episode on October 13

I would say it was ok for a pilot. It wasn't great but wasn't terrible.

Definitely has potential. Plenty of Easter egg fun

Didn't expect to see Batman, so that was a cool albeit short and blurry surprise. Also nice to see Joker confirmed for this universe too.

I'll keep watching

Look at that. It hasn't been cancelled yet. That's nice.

@ImmovableForce - It's not perfect but im sure it will improve, its not like Stephen Amell was a great actor when the series started

@dracula - Stephen Amell has certainly grown a lot with the show, I really like him, but to be honest, I was sold on Arrow with the pilot and a lot of that had to do with Amell.

Anyone have any idea of when this show is supposed to take place, relative to her appearance in Elseworlds and even Crisis? Wonder if her Crisis episode will, time wise, exist separate from the rest of the season.

Noticed Kate wears the same jacket as Selina in Gotham season 1 and most of 2

usually don't notice that, but that was my favorite jacket Selina wore

@dracula - very similar but not exact. Good eye though. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if the show utilizes some of the Gotham sets/props.

@HeavyMetal4Life - you sure, the one in these photos does have noticable differences, but the one in the pilot seemed pretty spot on.

Would be great to see Gotham props, like if Mr. Freeze shows up, really the Gotham suit was so good, they can just use it. Considering how much they love Legacy casting, hope to see Gotham cast members at some point, obviously not as their Gotham characters, but there are plenty of other great characters they can play

@dracula - I was just looking at the one in the photos on this article.

There's certainly some great Gotham actors that I'd love to see come on over.

@HeavyMetal4Life - I'm really hoping that if Alfred shows up, Sean Pertwee would reprise his role.

@Odin - ohhh yes, he's my favorite live action Alfred so far.

@dracula - sure as hell looks like the same jacket! I wonder if they borrowed this from Gotham for just the pilot only, since the pilot was shot early before the rest of the episodes I think, and switched to a different jacket after the show was picked up.

I thought it was a good pilot. Damn, I'm old Birds of Prey TV Series; it's turning 17 years old next week. Birds of Prey debut on October 9, 2002, on The WB. Rachel Skarsten, plays some great villains in opinion.

@LukeCage2155 - Wonder if she will play her Birds Of Prey character (would never call her black canary) in Crisis On Infinite Earths, considering the Huntress from that show is showing up

Good pilot IMO, was surprised that they took out some things from the first teaser reel from early this year like Kate's answer to her dad saying she was a female Bruce Wayne and the "not going to let a man take credit for a woman's work", definitely not as big cringey as the effect those lines had.

The tone for the pilot felt right so that won't be an issue.

Feels like Mary and Luke wear their own "masks": one appears to just care about social media and selfies but actually runs an non-official clinic to help others which will come in handy for Kate to heal while the latter acts differently once they enter that Batcave at Wayne Enterprises. He seemed more open and relaxed once the secret was out.

Expecting over time for some secrets regarding the Kane accident that bothered Bruce to come to surface. Him having a crime board about it reminded me of Barry's from his mother's murder.

The scene with Kate lashing out at Jacob after Alice's mindgames worked was good. She bought it for that moment.

What I am not sure of is if she's really gonna work in some way with her dad's private security team, it wasn't made clear.

The journal letters remind me of the text messages Kara and Clark shared in SG S1.

Revealing the twist at the end was good, that way it won't dragged too much.

So it is a nice start. Can't wait for next week.

Seriously why did they drop the Beth kane/red Alice twist in very first episode?
