Another classic Batman villain is set to make her way to Gotham City to cause even more problems for the Scarlet Knight, as Poison Ivy will be introduced during the upcoming third season of Batwoman.
Variety reports that Bridget Regan (Legend of the Seeker, Jane the Virgin, Agent Carter) has joined the cast in the recurring guest-star role of a Pamela Isley, aka the seductively lethal Poison Ivy. Funnily enough, Regan has been a fan-favorite pick to play Ivy for quite a while.
This take on the character is described as "a passionate, brilliant scientist with a mind for changing the world for the better. But her plans shifted when she was experimented on by a colleague, injected with various plant toxins which turned her into the infamous Batman villain Poison Ivy. With a formidable power coursing through her veins, Pamela used her powers to do what she thought was right, even if Batman and those closest to her disagreed with her dangerous methods. Now effectively wiped off the board for years, Batwoman and the Bat Team must prepare themselves for Poison Ivy to return with a vengeance."
Poison Ivy has previously appeared in live-action form a couple of times, with Uma Thurman taking on the role in Batman and Robin, and Clare Foley, Maggie Geha and Peyton List playing a version of the character in Gotham.
Regan joins Gotham alum Victoria Cartagena, who is set to play a different incarnation of Renee Montoya on the show.
Batwoman is scheduled to return for its third season on October 13.
