Rachel Skarsten’s Alice may be poised to be one of the central baddies of Batwoman Season 1, but it seems Gotham’s latest defender won’t just have her own rogues’ gallery to deal with, as some of Batman’s deadly foes remain a threat to the city.

“In episode 3, we have a pretty serious Batman villain show up thinking, ‘I’m going to f—ing kill Batman,’” showrunner Caroline Dries told Entertainment Weekly.

While Dries didn’t reveal anymore details on the mysterious villain, she did explain that along with facing some of her cousin’s enemies, Kate Kane will also come to understand the personal sacrifices Bruce Wayne had to pay as the Dark Knight.

"One of the things she’s going to figure out pretty early on is, ‘Oh, I now see why there was no Mrs. Wayne.’ It’s because it was very hard to be the hero of Gotham and have a love life. So her personal life will have its due time on screen, and she’s trying to grapple with how do I be Kate and also be Batwoman.”


Batwoman is currently scheduled to premiere on October 6, 2019 and features a cast that includes Ruby Rose, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Dougray Scott, Elizabeth Anweis and Nicole Kang.

Did you see the trailers? CW is creating this purely for preachy political reasons.

Which is a shame, because the Batwoman comics by Greg Rucka and JH Williams III are awesome and could use a TV series.

Hopefully the CW never gets the rights to use Batman. They already turned Superman into a jobber for Supergirl. If Batman shows up, he's only going to be there to make Batwoman and Green Arrow look better (assuming Green Arrow is still alive). So why bother giving them the rights? Let Batman make a proper appearance on Titans or something...

I wanna see this show focus on the detective part of being a batman team member. The thing that bugs me about the other CW shows is that it's so focused on the their interpersonal lives. All in all, I still like the CW shows

Could be anyone that doesn't like to see another bat vigilante around the city just when it was theirs for the taking. Since they want to keep at least this 1st Season grounded I doubt they will rely on special effects so it can't be Mr. Freeze or Clayface nor even Poison Ivy.

Two-Face or maybe Bane, gotta be someone physical that Kate can fight head on.

I had high hopes for this, but the trailers ruined it for me. Heck, even the Arkham Asylum stuff in Elseworlds was really cartoonish.

Since they're not following the awesome comics from Greg Rucka and JH Williams III, hopefully they eventually tone down the cringey attempts at preaching and embrace the show's identity as female Arrowverse Batman.
