While Titans may have already released its second season, many fans are still waiting for the sophomore outing of the DC Universe’s other hit series, Doom Patrol. Fortunately, following the recent announcement that Abigail Shapiro will play Dorothy Spinner, we have some more casting news that will surely get fans eager for season 2.

Per Deadline, Games People Play star Karen Obilom has landed a recurring role on Doom Patrol as Roni Evers. According to the report Evers is “a military veteran with a mysterious past who Vic Stone/Cyborg (Wade) meets while attending a PTSD support group.”

Although it sounds as if the two characters may start off friendly, bonding over their traumatic experiences, Obilom appears to be playing a gender-bent version of Ronald Evers, a character that eventually becomes one of Cyborg’s foes and a cyborg himself.

There is currently no set premiere date for Doom Patrol season 2, but Diane Guerrero, Brendan Frasier, Jovian Wade, Timothy Dalton, April Bowlby, and Matt Bomer have been confirmed to return.

@Krav - That was also the case before crisis.
That's why beast boy wasn't referenced and didn't appear in doom patrol.
Confusing I know.

@Krav - Titans, IMO is dc’s worst tv show right now. That includes the cw. It’s just bad. Why taint dc’s best tv show with it’s worst one?

@kider @Ayush - Yeah, I figured as such seeing how the Chief is played by two different actors on each show. I also noticed that the Doom Patrol characters are portrayed/written differently between both shows.

Though like @Krav wishes, it would be cool to see a nod. Maybe the alternative version of them could show up again next season of Titans? Though, if they did that then it would just distract from the plot for next season, unless they could some how make it work?

Doom Patrol is an incredibly cool concept. I will never understand how WB can release a Harley Quinn-centric theatrical film and relegate Doom Patrol to a streaming platform. No wonder they keep failing to adapt their intellectual properties.

@johnnymarr - To be fair, I like it better this way because I get to see more of Doom Patrol than whatever they would have put up on the silver screen.

TV Shows >>>>>>>>> Films

I just like the long running story format better than cramped three hour long max of a movie.

@Philvis - I liked the one where Cliff explored "The Underground" since that was very insightful of Crazy Jane as a character. Plus I find the relationship between them to be the best out of the show (so far).
